During his meeting with Indian Ambassador to the Kingdom Anwar Halim, The Chairman of the Amman Chamber of Industry, Eng. Fathi Al-Jagbir, discussed ways to develop economic and trade relations between the two countries, especially at the level of private sector institutions.

He stressed the importance of the Indian market for Jordanian exports as one of the most promising and large markets capable of absorbing many products of the industrial sector, and can be a supplier of many raw materials needed by Jordanian industries.

According to a statement issued by the Chamber yesterday, al-Jagbir said there were many successful Indian industrial investments in the Kingdom, which benefited from free trade agreements signed between Jordan and many other countries around the world.

He expressed hope for the development of economic relations between the two countries, noting that Jordan's exports to India last year amounted to 685 million dollars, concentrated in fertilizer products, potash and raw phosphate, compared with 568 million dollars in imports that constituted grain, organic chemicals, sugar, tea and products. the vast majority of them animal.

He stressed the need for the private sector in the two countries to contribute to strengthening and strengthening these ties through the exchange of visits of economic delegations, stressing the readiness of the Amman Chamber of Industry to host a delegation of Indian businessmen and organize visits to a number of factories for them, to see the extent of the quality and development that Witnessed by The Jordanian industry.

For his part, the Indian ambassador stressed his country's desire to strengthen ties of cooperation and develop economic relations with Jordan, calling for the exchange of visits by economic delegations between the two countries and participation in exhibitions held between the two sides.

He expressed his country's readiness to overcome all obstacles to this, calling for the establishment of the relationship between the representatives of the private sector in the two countries, which will contribute to enhancing trade between them.
