The Workshop in Amman Chamber of
Industry on the participation of persons with disabilities in society the Amman
Chamber of Industry, in cooperation with the Directorate of the Ministry of
Labour in the Chamber building, organized a training course aimed at service
providers in the Chamber, with a view to informing them of their role in
ensuring the effective participation of persons with disabilities in society,
especially under the activation Work that provides for the employment of one
worker with disabilities in every institution employing between (25 – 50
workers) and employing 4% of persons with disabilities if the number of
employees is more than 50 workers.
The
training course was opened by Dr. Nael Al Husami, director General of the
Chamber, who emphasized that the Chamber encourages employers to work with
persons with disabilities by clarifying the benefits and economic returns that
will result from the process of engaging the people involved in the labour
market, stating that the Chamber was initiated Cooperation with the Department
of Employment of Persons with disabilities in the Ministry of Labour, through
the organization of training workshops to inform employers from the industrial
sector of their role in the employment of persons with disabilities, as well as
the dispatch of a number of staff in training courses to qualify them to be
able to work as a link between employers and persons with disabilities and the
engineer Ahlam Al Abed, director of inspection in the Directorate of Labour in
the Chamber, stressed the importance of the integration of persons with
disabilities in Jordanian society in order to activate article 27 of the
International Convention on the Rights of Persons with disabilities on the
right to work, and article (4(C) of the Law on the Rights of persons Disabled
Persons No. 31 of 2007. So that the work of job seekers with disabilities
becomes equal to others
