Technology Transfer Office:

The Technology Transfer Office was established at the Amman Chamber of Industry as part of the second phase of the Support to Research, Technological Development and Innovation in Jordan Project – (SRTD II), which is supported by the European Union and is affiliated to the Higher Council for Science and Technology.

The Technology Transfer Office of the Amman Chamber of Industry has the potential to link the research sector with the industrial sector, where the main focus of the office will be on three main axes: First; to attract demand from the industrial sector, and second; to commercialize technological offers by the research sector, and third; to develop cooperation in applied research. 

Goals of the Technology Transfer Office:

  1. To contribute to the development of the competitiveness of the industrial sector and enhance the technological component.
  2. To increase and develop the levels of the industry’s applied research, in order to contribute to the development of industrial projects and products that are commercially viable and of high value.
  3. To contribute to building a system for technology transfer from universities to the industrial and the business sectors.

Responsibilities of the Technology Transfer Office:

  1. Determine the industrial sector requirements of new technology.
  2. Identify new technologies available in the research sector and assess their commercial potential and suitability for intellectual property.
  3. Seek partners from the industrial sector (identifying industrial sectors that can benefit from research results) to exploit technology.
  4. Determine legal protection methods for industrial patents to attract investment and protect the rights of both parties.
  5. Assist in the preparation of summaries and presentations of proposed technology projects, and assist in directing and preparing funding proposals for presentation to supporting programs that support the work on the new technologies and their marketing.
  6. Build an integrated system to support the industrial sector in working with the academic sector and develop this partnership.
  7. Attend meetings with officials from the public and private sectors and participate in relevant conferences that support specialized activities in the transfer of technology, in order to promote and enhance the role of Amman Chamber of Industry in Technology Transfer.
  8. Contribute to solving issues related to technology transfer and interaction with industrial partners and emerging companies.
