Objectives:
- Enhance the productivity of factories by reducing waste and costs.
The Conditions that Must be Met by Factories which May Apply for Benefiting from the Program Services:
- Membership of the Amman Chamber of Industry and renewal of the annual membership.
Note:
The time for participating in the program is limited, and there will be a circular to the members of the Amman Chamber of Industry to participate during this period.
Program Services:
- Offer specialized consulting and guidance services in the field of productivity improvement and minimizing cost and waste, such through utilizing flexible manufacturing methods and the tools of industrial engineering. The services will be offered through a volunteer Japanese expert whom the Chamber has enlisted within the framework of the Japanese experts volunteers program and who has longstanding experience in the field, where the expert will work for a period of two weeks in the factory to implement the required tasks, while, at the request of the factory, making a follow up visit to the factory to offer technical assistance to ascertain implementation of his recommendations.
Program Work Mechanism:
The mechanism of offering services will be through the work of the Japanese expert in each factory separately according to the working hours for a period of two weeks or more or less according to need, while the mechanism will include the following main phases:
- The expert will study and diagnose the present situation of the factory.
- Identify the points of strength and weakness and discuss the various subjects and relevant facts with those responsible at the factory.
- Define the opportunities for improvement and suggest a set of recommendations aiming to improve productivity and minimize waste and production costs.
- Make a presentation to those responsible at the factory summarizing the findings and recommendations of the expert.
Upon completion of the abovementioned phases, the expert shall undertake subsequent field visits to the factory according to a timeline to be subsequently determined to provide technical assistance during the phases of implementation of the recommendation and to devise solutions to any problems facing the factory upon implementation, and also gage the impact manifested in the performance indicators relating to the factory.
Factory’s Obligations:
The beneficiary factory shall not bear any financial costs in return for the services of the expert, but the factory shall shoulder the following responsibilities:
- Provide daily transportation to the expert from his place of residence in Amman in the 7th Circle area to the factory and back during the period of implementation of the mission and according to the official work hours at the factory.
- Select one of the specialized employees to be responsible for the productivity improvement and minimization of waste and production costs project, in addition to following up with the expert as is necessary to enable him to perform his duties at a high standard during his period of work at the factory. Moreover, the employee must have English language proficiency.
- Form a taskforce including persons responsible at the factory from the various related specializations in addition to the employee chosen, with a view to following up as is necessary concerning implementation of the recommendations of the expert, and in a manner positively reflecting on the achievement of the desired goals of the factory in terms of improving productivity and minimizing waste and production costs.
- Supply the expert with the necessary data to facilitate his mission.
