During the opening of the factories of the International Company for Paints Technology

Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah II, Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh inaugurated today, Monday, the factory of the International Company for Paint Technology in Zarqa Governorate, marking the launch of the full operation phase of the factory that was built during the Corona pandemic in 2020.

The Prime Minister affirmed the government's support for national industries that translate the role of the private sector in contributing to the sustainable development process and providing job opportunities for Jordanians.

He pointed to the government's endeavor to develop the investment environment in the Kingdom, enhance local investments, and attract more Arab and foreign investments, pointing to the new electric tariff, which will reduce production costs on a number of vital economic sectors, including the health, tourism, agricultural, commercial and industrial sectors, with the aim of raising their competitiveness and motivating wheel of economic growth.

Dr. Al-Khasawneh expressed his pride in the national industries, praising the advanced level they have reached in providing high quality products that are comparable to international products and compete in foreign markets.

The Prime Minister toured the factory’s departments and facilities, reviewed the production lines, and listened to a briefing from the Executive Director of the factory, Shadi Al-Antawi, on products and quality, and what the factory will offer, which is the sum of 100 years of experience for the Norwegian international company Jotun.

Al-Antawi pointed out that the factory is keen to use modern systems in the production process, and contributes to competition at the regional level through Jordanian hands, pointing to the endeavor to reduce transportation and storage costs, which will be directly reflected on selling prices, which will be one of the strengths in the local and international markets, in addition to Training local expertise to keep pace with global developments in this field.

In turn, CEO of Jotun International, Morton Vaughn, expressed his pride in establishing the company's first factory in Jordan, which will contribute to supporting local industries, stressing the strength of the strategic relations between Jordan and Norway.

It is noteworthy that the factory of the International Company for Paints Technology produces up to 15 million liters annually, with a production capacity of 35 million liters by 2024.

The factory specializes in the production and distribution of high quality water-based paints that comply with the specifications of the Norwegian parent company (Jotun IS), which has more than 100 years of experience, and is characterized by reliance on the latest technical means in the manufacturing processes and complete automation, under the supervision of Jordanian employees.

The inauguration was attended by Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Youssef Al-Shamali, Minister of Investment Engineer Khairy Amro, Minister of Labor Nayef Istitieh, Norwegian Ambassador to Jordan Espin Avent Lindback, Governor of Zarqa Hijazi Assaf, Executive Director of the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO) Abdel Fattah Al Kayed, and head of two chambers of industry Jordan and Amman, Engineer Fathi Jaghbir.
