The Amman Chamber of Industry’s exports broke the 4 billion dinars barrier
during the past ten months of the current year 2021, driven by an increase in
exports of 8 sub-sectors.
These figures
indicate that the Jordanian industry has overcome the consequences of the
Corona virus crisis, and has begun to return to its upward growth path, which
it recorded during the past years, based on its high quality and
competitiveness, which enabled it to be present in important global markets.
The Chamber’s
exports increased in the past ten months of this year by 12%, to reach 4.205
billion dinars, compared to 3.753 billion dinars for the same period in 2019.
According to
statistical data obtained by (Petra), the United States of America, India,
Saudi Arabia and Iraq accounted for the majority of The Chamber's exports
during the past ten months of the current year 2021 recorded a value of 2.472
billion dinars.
The Chamber’s
exports to the United States of America increased during the past ten months of
this year by 80 percent, making it at the forefront of Arab and foreign
countries that received the most exports of Amman’s industry, recording a value
of 829 million dinars, compared to 416 million dinars for the same period in
2019.
According to
statistical data, exports increased The Chamber to India during the past ten
months of the current year 2021 increased by 31 percent to reach 727 million
dinars, compared to 556 million dinars for the same period in 2019.
On the other
hand Amman’s industry exports decreased during the past ten months of this year
to Saudi Arabia by 7 percent, declining to 473 One million dinars compared to
510 million dinars for the same period in 2019.
The Amman
Chamber of Industry’s exports declined during the past ten months of the
current year 2021, to the Iraqi market by 1 percent, recording 443 million
dinars compared to 446 million dinars for the same period in 2019.
The statistical
data showed Amman’s industry exports increased during the past ten months of
the current year 2021 to Syria by 28 percent, to reach 74 million dinars,
compared to 58 million dinars for the period the same period
of 2019.
The Amman Chamber
of Industry’s exports increased during the past ten months of this year to many
Arab and foreign countries, most notably Indonesia, Egypt, Brazil, Algeria,
Turkey, Sudan, Yemen, Belgium, Libya and Spain, in addition to many other
countries.
On the other
hand, the Chamber's exports decreased during the past ten months of the current
year 2021 to many countries, including Palestine, China, Qatar, Kuwait,
Lebanon, Italy, Bahrain, Tunisia, Mexico and Iran.
The Chamber's
exports during the last ten months of this year were distributed to the mining
industries at a value of 1,099 billion dinars, chemical and cosmetics 911
million dinars, and engineering, electrical, and information technology 492
million dinars.
The exports of
the therapeutic industries and medical supplies sectors amounted to 482 million
dinars, the catering, food, agricultural and livestock sectors amounted to 405
million dinars, and the leather and textile sectors amounted to about 380
million dinars.
The rest of the
Amman Chamber of Industry’s exports during the past ten months of this year
were distributed to the sectors of packaging, paper, cardboard and office
supplies industries at a value of 184 million dinars, plastic and rubber at 159
million dinars, and construction at 78 million dinars, and finally the wood and
furniture industries with a value of 15 million dinars.
It is noteworthy
that the Amman Chamber of Industry, which was established in 1962, has today
8,600 industrial establishments with its membership, employing 159 thousand
male and female workers, with a capital of nearly 5 billion dinars.
