The German Jordanian University and Amman Chamber of Industry signed a memorandum of understanding for joint cooperation regarding training students, enhancing job opportunities for graduates in the industrial sector, and developing cooperation between industrialists and academics at the university in the fields of scientific research of interest to the industrial sector.

The memorandum signed on behalf of the university by its president, Prof. Manar Fayyad, and the chamber's president, Eng. Fathi Al-Jaghbir, stipulated the development of mechanisms for cooperation in the fields of research projects, the development of industrial products, creativity, industrial innovation, technology transfer, and training courses.

During the signing ceremony, Dr. Fayyad stressed the importance of joint cooperation between industrialists and researchers at the university in order to develop the Jordanian industry and address its challenges, expressing the university's readiness to support applied scientific research projects and implement projects jointly by industrialists, students and researchers.

For his part, the head of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, Eng. Fathi Al-Jaghbir, stressed the importance of strengthening relations between the industrial sector and Jordanian universities, to benefit from the outputs of applied scientific research projects and direct them to meet the needs of the industrial sector, in addition to cooperating in the field of developing industrial products, and benefiting from academic expertise in solving problems. Industrial sector.

Jaghbir added that the joint cooperation will provide an important opportunity to link students with industrial companies, rehabilitate and train them within many programs organized by the Chamber, including the dual studies program at the German Jordanian University, through which students are trained in industrial companies in the field of their scientific specializations.

The agreement included arranging for an expanded meeting that includes industrialists, members of the academic staff and graduate students to introduce the industrial sector to the university's infrastructure and its role in scientific research, innovation, and the university industrial projects program.

It also included cooperation in organizing the engineering graduation projects competition implemented in the industrial sector in cooperation with the Jordanian Engineers Association, participating in the financing and management of the Doctor for Each Factory program since its establishment in 2003, in addition to launching programs in the field of creativity and innovation and linking with national and international funds and supporting bodies that Contribute to supporting the establishment of industrial research and development projects in cooperation with researchers.

At the end of the meeting, the delegation of the Chamber, which included the Director General of the Chamber, Dr. Nael Al-Husami, and the Director of the Department of Economic Development, Eng. Fadl Al-Labadi, visited the university's laboratories and facilities.
