The Minister of Interior, Mazen Al-Faraya, decided to allow shipping to Iraq
and vice versa to Jordan by the (door to door) system as of 08/22/2021, while allowing
those who wish to continue exporting by (back to back) method.
Iraq is one of the most important export markets for national industries, as
our exports amount to approximately 1.4 billion annually, which have fallen to
more than half as a result of the border closure due to the security measures
adopted by the Iraqi government to secure the way for the movement of goods. It
is noteworthy that Jordanian exports to Iraq reached their peak in 2013,
reaching 882 million dinars, but they witnessed a significant decline to 330.8
million dinars in 2016 and 367.8 million dinars in 2017, as a result of the
closure of the Trebil crossing and the imposition of customs duties on imports
by the Iraqi government. to Iraq.
