Salman Al-Qudah, Director General of the Civil Consumer Corporation, confirmed that the Corporation gives the national industries priority in purchasing through the various bids it offers to provide all the materials that are sold in the Corporation’s various markets, which cover all the governorates of the Kingdom, where the Jordanian products constitute a percentage exceeding (82%). Of the total products available in these markets, as these products have proven their ability to meet the needs of the institution’s market-goers in terms of quality and price, stressing the institution’s commitment to implementing the Prime Minister’s communications regarding granting price preference to national products in the bids it offers.
Qudah added that the Corporation, aware of the importance of the national industry in operating and supporting the national economy, has decided to provide a number of incentives and additional benefits for Jordanian products bearing the "Made in Jordan" logo, including: facilitating investment procedures for industrial companies that have the logo, as well as giving industrial companies that have the logo An additional advantage in the bids offered by the Corporation, as well as giving these companies the advantage of displaying their products in the distinguished and most popular places within the Corporation’s markets and allowing them to promote their products in the most crowded spaces within the Corporation’s markets and at its doors free of charge, in addition to accepting shopping bags that contain the information of these companies.
The head of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, Eng. Fathi Al-Jaghbir, valued the cooperation of the Civil Consumer Corporation with the industrial sector, by solving the issues and obstacles facing industrial companies that deal with the corporation’s markets, as well as the efforts of the Corporation’s general manager in developing the corporation’s markets to become more attractive to citizens, praising the great role What the Civil Consumer Corporation played during the first months of the Corona pandemic in providing the basic needs and requirements of citizens.
Jaghbir added that the industrial sector is the largest employer of manpower in the Kingdom after the public sector, as it employs more than 250,000 male and female workers, and if this sector is supported, it will be able to create more job opportunities for the people of this country, especially in light of the pandemic. Head of the "Made in Jordan" systemDr. Iyad Abu Haltam stressed the importance of the incentives that the Civil Consumer Corporation will provide to Jordanian industrial companies, expressing his hope that the rest of the ministries and institutions related to the Corporation will follow the example of providing such incentives, stressing that the new strategy seeks to provide Jordanian national products of high quality at reasonable prices, aimed at building Confidence and enhancing the credibility of the consumer in the local and export markets, adding that the campaign has set strict standards for quality with regard to placing the Made in Jordan logo on any Jordanian product, as three levels have been identified for the Made in Jordan mark, which are gold, silver and bronze, and the difference between them is determined by the quality of the companies’ products The extent of their conformity with the strict quality standards set by the Amman Chamber of Industry and the Made in Jordan system based on the Jordanian and international quality marks owned by industrial companies, the availability of departments for after-sales service, quality assurance and marketing, and the extent to which their products conform to specificationsInternational and Jordanian specifications.
Abu Haltam explained that the Amman Chamber of Industry has support programs for companies that do not initially achieve the required quality standards in order to qualify them and develop their operations in order to obtain the necessary requirements to put the Made in Jordan logo on their products, in addition to developing the concepts of promotion and distribution and adopting modern concepts of e-marketing and commerce To improve the percentage of exports by increasing the number of exportable Jordanian products and enabling them to reach non-traditional markets
Abu Haltam added that the system seeks to motivate Jordanian industrial companies to actively engage in placing the slogan "Made in Jordan on their products" and achieve the necessary requirements for this, knowing that the system works in cooperation with the concerned government agencies in order to give procedural incentives represented in facilitating and simplifying procedures and giving fast tracks to companies' transactions Which obtained the campaign slogan, in coordination with Her Excellency Engineer Maha Ali, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply to develop the concept of these procedural incentives in a way that companies that obtained the Made in Jordan logo can enjoy preferential treatment with many government agencies in terms of accelerating and facilitating their transaction procedures at these parties.
