Al-Jaghbir: We are able to achieve more achievements in the industrial sector

Petra _ The head of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, Engineer Fathi Al-Jaghbir, said that the Kingdom's independence on the 25th of May 1946 constituted the basic start for building a state of institutions and law and developing various sectors that would meet the development needs of Jordan, including the industrial sector, despite the extreme difficulties and circumstances surrounding this country, And it directly affects our economic conditions.

Al-Jaghbir added that the industrial sector was able, with the will and determination of its workers, to translate the aspirations and directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II and to achieve achievement after achievement, as our industrial exports reached (138) countries in various continents of the world, and exports exceeded (7) billion dollars annually, as it became the slogan "Made in Jordan" reflects the quality in many countries. As the Amman Chamber of Industry seeks, through the new strategy of the "Made in Jordan" campaign, to increase Jordanian exports, as the report of the International Trade Center indicates that if the Jordanian industries were able to take advantage of the currently available and untapped export opportunities, which amount to (4.5) billion dollars, It will be able to create (130) thousand job opportunities for the people of this country, of which (34) thousand job opportunities are for women.

Al-Jaghbir indicated that honoring the Hashemite leadership and its appreciation for the productive and developed workforce over the past decades, was reflected in the number of workers in the industrial sector, which exceeds the (250) thousand workers and workers, most of whom are Jordanians, and this workforce is highly qualified and trained, as a result of the accumulation of experience on the one hand, and the development The technological sector witnessed by the sector on the other hand, as the industrial sector was able, despite the difficult conditions that the Kingdom witnessed last year due to the Corona pandemic, to create (15) thousand new job opportunities.

Perhaps one of the most important indications of the sector’s development and the efficiency of the workers working in it is its share in foreign direct investment, which amounted to about (70%) of the total investments registered in the Investment Promotion Corporation during the past decade.

Al-Jaghbir emphasized that these achievements would not have been achieved without the Hashemite leadership's stimulation of the spirit of leadership and innovation, the wise policy of this leadership, and the focus of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein, may God preserve him, on economic development and the need to distribute its gains to all governorates, in addition to the blessings of security and stability, which are a product of The efforts of our armed forces and security agencies.

Stressing that the industrial sector is participating in the nation’s 75th Independence Day celebrations, to confirm its continued efforts to promote the march of progress and modernity and to respond effectively to the initiatives and visions of His Majesty the King aimed at strengthening the national economy, improving living standards and providing a better life for citizens.
