During his reception at the Chamber of Commerce, The President of the Chambers of Industry, Jordan and Oman, The President of the Chambers of Industry, Jordan and Oman, Engineer Fathi Al-Jagbir, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Kingdom Of Mato Ziko, stressed the importance of the Bosnian market for Jordanian exports as a gateway to the Balkan countries, which include Bulgaria, Albania, Romania and Serbia.
During the meeting, which was attended by amman chamber of commerce board members Tamim Qasrawi and Ismail Zahran, and General Manager of the Amman Chamber of Industry, Dr. Nael al-Hasamy, said that these markets are promising markets for Jordanian industries, as well as Jordan can be a gateway for Bosnian products to the Markets of the Arabian Gulf and Iraq.
He noted that Jordan is a magnet for foreign investment through its unique geographical location, which makes it a gateway to Iraqi and Gulf markets, adding that the free trade agreements signed by Jordan make the markets of many countries of the world open to Jordanian exports.
He pointed out that the Amman Chamber of Industry welcomes the organization of a visit of a Jordanian economic delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to strengthen economic relations between the two countries, which is still modest, where Jordanian exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2019 did not exceed one million dollars against imports of one million and 111 thousand dollars, where most jordanian exports were concentrated in the chemical industries while imports were concentrated in wood and coal.
Bosnian Ambassador Mato Ziko said there were great prospects for strengthening economic ties between the two countries, adding that he had applied to the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply to prepare a preliminary draft of a free trade agreement between the two countries.
He said Bosnia was a candidate for EU membership and could be a supplier of raw materials for Jordanian factories operating in the iron and steel industry.
The Bosnian ambassador said he wanted to hold bilateral working meetings between businessmen in Bosnia and their counterparts in the kingdom, adding that a direct air link between Bosnia and Jordan could contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries in various fields, including tourism, especially since there are 1,200 Bosnian nationals residing in the kingdom and a large number of Jordanians who have completed their university studies in Bosnia, numbering 1,600 each year.
Jordanians have been facilitated to be granted visas to Bosnia, so that they are granted within 24 hours, he said.
