“Amman Industry” explores ways and possibilities of increasing national exports to the Sultanate of Oman

Alghad - The head of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, Engineer Fathi Al-Jaghbir, discussed with the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom, Hilal Al-Maamari, during the meeting that they gathered at the Amman Chamber of Industry, ways and possibilities of increasing the volume of national exports to the Sultanate, in a manner that serves to increase trade exchange between the two countries.

Engineer Al-Jaghbir said during the meeting, which was attended by members of the board of directors of the Amman Chamber of Industry, Tamim Al-Qasrawi, Ismail Zahran, and the General Director of the Amman Chamber of Industry, Dr. Nael Al-Husami, that the meeting focused on the importance of establishing joint investments between the two countries, by looking for advantages of relative importance in the two countries so that these are The investments are complementary and in the interest of both countries.

He expressed that the Amman Chamber of Industry welcomed the organization of a visit by a Jordanian industrial delegation to the Sultanate of Oman to see opportunities for cooperation with their counterparts in the Sultanate on the ground, as well as the Chamber's welcome to receive an Omani economic delegation to see the investment advantages of Jordan.

He expressed his aspiration for the economic relations between Jordan and the Sultanate of Oman to develop further during the coming period, especially since the trade exchange between the two countries is still below ambition, as the trade exchange between the two countries in 2019 amounted to about $ 99 million, of which the Jordanian exports accounted for 62 million $ 37 million for imports.

For his part, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom, Hilal Al-Maamari, affirmed that his country enjoys an attractive investment climate, through the recently approved laws that grant many advantages and incentives that a foreign investor may enjoy. The investor can also benefit from the distinct geographical location of the Sultanate of Oman and its proximity to The Gulf, African and Asian markets, in addition to the low energy costs.

During the meeting, it was agreed to exchange information between the Amman Chamber of Industry and the Omani Embassy on investment opportunities in the two countries, as well as the dates of the exhibitions that will be held in both countries, in order to arrange for an exchange of visits by economic delegations of businessmen in the two countries.
It is noteworthy that the most important Jordanian exports to the Sultanate of Oman are concentrated in vegetables, fruits, chemical industries, machinery and electrical appliances, while imports from them are concentrated in plastics and their articles of rubber, minerals and fish.
