The exports of the Amman Chamber of Industry, during the past seven months of this year, amounted to 4.024 billion dinars, compared to 4.158 billion dinars for the same period last year 2022.
Exports from six sectors recorded an increase, while those of the remaining four sectors decreased by percentages ranging from 1% for packaging, paper, cardboard, and office supplies industries to 16% for the mining sector.
India, the United States, Saudi Arabia and Iraq accounted for the majority of the Amman Chamber of Industry's exports during the past seven months of this year, recording a value of 2.295 billion dinars.
The Chamber's exports to the United States of America during the past seven months of this year rose to 666 million dinars compared to 560 million dinars for the same period last year, an increase of 19 percent.
Statistical data showed that Oman's industrial exports to Saudi Arabia increased during the past seven months of this year, by 15 percent, to reach 483 million dinars compared to 418 million dinars for the same period last year.
Amman's industrial exports to Iraq rose during the past seven months of this year to 484 million dinars, compared to 333 million dinars for the same period last year, an increase of 45 percent.
On the other hand, the Chamber's exports to India declined in the past seven months of this year to about 662 million dinars compared to 888 million dinars for the same period last year, a decrease of 25 percent, although it came at the forefront of Arab and foreign countries receiving the most exports of Amman's industry.
According to the geographical distribution of the Chamber's exports during the past seven months of this year, Arab countries came in the lead with a value of 1.757 billion dinars, non-Arab Asian countries about 1.120 billion dinars, and African countries about 35 million dinars.
Amman's industrial exports to North American countries amounted to about 706 million dinars, South American countries 65 million dinars, European Union countries 167 million dinars, non-EU European countries 91 million dinars, and other countries worth about 84 million dinars.
During the past seven months of 2023, the Chamber's exports were distributed in the mining industries with a value of 1.179 billion dinars, chemical and cosmetics with 772 million dinars, and engineering, electrical and information technology with 579 million dinars.
Exports of the catering, food, agricultural and livestock industries amounted to 445 million dinars, treatment and medical supplies 362 million dinars, and leather and knitting 275 million dinars.
The rest of Amman's industrial exports during the past seven months of this year were distributed in the sectors of packaging, paper, cardboard and office supplies with a value of 175 million dinars, plastic and rubber industries with a value of 139 million dinars, construction with 86 million dinars, and wood and furniture industries with a value of 10 million dinars.
It is noteworthy that the Amman Chamber of Industry, which was established in 1962, currently includes 8,600 industrial establishments, employing 159,000 male and female workers with a capital of about 5 billion dinars.
