The Chairman of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry called on Engineer Fathi Al-Jagbir to allow all industrial facilities to operate immediately.
This came during a meeting with Labor Minister Nidal Faisal Al Bataina in the presence of representatives of the Chambers of Industry and Commerce during which they discussed all issues related to the industrial and commercial sectors.
Engineer Al-Jagbair said in a statement that the meeting continued after midnight and witnessed the discussion of all obstacles facing the work of the industrial and commercial sectors.
He added that the government was open and listened to the observations of the industrial and commercial sectors and the repercussions of the Corona crisis on them, and future plans to save the private sector.
The industrial sector is the largest employer with more than 250,000 workers supporting more than one million citizens, he said.
He pointed out that the industrial sector is the main source of the national economy, gives its workers job security and contributes to maintaining community security in Jordan.
He stressed that the industrial sector is working with all its efforts to keep all its employees and not to cut the livelihood of any of them, because it bears its national responsibility during this crisis that the country is going through.
He called on al-Jagbir al-Batayneh not to burden the industrial sector more than it can afford and works to close many industrial facilities, pointing out that the industrial sector suffered during the past years to great pressures but endured due to its national role and its contribution to the jordanian economy in foreign currency and reduce the deficit in the trade balance.
He said he will continue to coordinate with the relevant official committees in the coming period to come up with recommendations and solutions to maintain minimum work in the private sector and ensure its durability, thereby maintaining the job security of its employees.
