Al-Jagbir: Switzerland and Germany have requested Jordanian steriles

06-Apr-2020

Khaberni - The head of the Amman and Jordan Chamber of Industry, Eng. Fathi Al-Jaghbir, said that Jordan is one of the few countries that did not witness a shortage of sanitizers and health papers during the crisis of the Corona virus.

Al-Jaghbir responded, during his hosting of the Sunday economic program on the Kingdom Channel, to those who were mocking Jordanian industry, that countries including Switzerland and Germany asked Jordan for sterilizers.

In a related development, Al-Jaghbir affirmed that all the factories that continued their work during the ban, had not recorded any infection with the Corona virus, calling for the speedy return of the production wheel to work.

He indicated that the Jordanian industry includes 10 sectors, 6 of which are currently completely suspended.

Al-Jaghbir considered that stopping production and the economic impact of that is no less dangerous than the Corona virus, indicating that Jordan can turn the crisis into an opportunity in light of the ability of the industrial sectors to provide their domestic needs and export to neighboring countries and the world.

And about the salaries of workers in the industrial sector, he said that the problem is not the desire of the industrialists to pay it, they certainly do not mind, but the problem is the inability to pay.

He explained that the industrial sector needs about 50 thousand workers in addition to the 60 thousand currently working, to ensure that it is kept to a minimum.
