Aladdustour - The Jordan Chamber of Industry, in cooperation with the General Organization for Social Security, organized an introductory meeting for the owners of industrial companies according to the standards and principles of implementing the occupational safety and health insurance instructions.

Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Chamber of Industry, Hani Abu Hassan, said that the main purpose of this meeting is to develop awareness of these instructions among industrialists and the mechanism of their application, and joint research in the process of finding common solutions to problems and obstacles facing industrial companies with the General Organization for Social Security.

Abu Hassan pointed out that the discussion of such instructions is for the purpose of simplifying the procedures and reducing the effort and burden on the industrialists, stressing to the industrial colleagues the need to work on implementing the occupational health and safety insurance instructions in order to avoid increasing the percentage of work injury insurance contributions for establishments that do not comply with occupational safety and health standards that may reach its highest level. To 4% instead of 2%, according to the provisions of the Social Security Law.

The Assistant Director General of the Social Security Corporation, Mohamed Al-Zoubi, said that the institution has approved government and private hospitals to receive work injuries and send a notice of work injury electronically by the employer and treatment is done immediately, where a presentation was made by the Social Security Corporation on OSH legislation.

During the meeting, the industrialists demanded that they be given more time to meet occupational safety and health standards and not increase the percentage of work-related injury insurance contributions to facilities going toward compliance with occupational safety and health standards that are considered one of the most important demands of the industrial sector with regard to the work of the Social Security Corporation, especially at this time the industry is going through.
