Alrai - The
Kingdom's industrial exports increased during the past ten months of the
current year 8.7 percent to reach 4,933 billion compared to the same period
last year, according to a statistical report of the Jordan Chamber of Industry.
According to the report, the
exports of the leather and knitting industries sector during the past ten
months of this year came to the forefront and recorded about 1,309 billion
dinars, compared to 1.12 billion dinars for the same period last year, an
increase of 17.7 percent.
Mining sector exports during
the past ten months of this year amounted to 906 million dinars, compared to
about 893 million dinars for the same period last year, an increase of 1.5
percent.
The exports of the chemical
and cosmetic industries sector increased by 18.4 percent to 815 million dinars
during the past ten months of this year, compared to about 689 million dinars
for the same period last year.
According to the report, the
exports of the medical industries and medical supplies sector increased during
the past ten months of this year by 13.4 percent, to reach 565 million dinars,
compared to about 499 million dinars for the same period last year.
The value of exports of the
catering and food industries sector during the past ten months of this year
amounted to about 464 million dinars, compared to 429 million dinars for the
same period last year, an increase of 8.2 percent.
According to the report,
exports of the plastic and rubber industries sector increased during the past
ten months of this year to 193 million dinars, compared to 189 million dinars
for the same period last year, with an increase of 2.4 percent.
The exports of the
construction industries sector increased during the past ten months of this
year by 33.4 percent, to reach about 73 million dinars, compared to 54 million
dinars for the same period last year.
In contrast, the exports of
the engineering industries and information technology sector declined during
the past ten months of this year to about 397 million dinars, compared to 438
million dinars for the same period last year, with a decrease of 9.4 percent.
Exports of the packaging
industries sector decreased during the past ten months of this year, 10.8
percent to 198 million dinars.
According to the report,
during the past ten months of this year, exports of the wood and furniture
industries sector amounted to 13 million dinars, compared to about 16 million
dinars for the same period last year, a decrease of 15.8 percent.
The chamber's report was based
on the certificates of origin issued by the chambers of industry in Amman,
Irbid and Zarqa.
The Jordanian industry
produces more than 1250 industrial goods through ten sectors that reach the
markets of 130 countries around the world.
