Alrai - An industrial delegation representing 8 Jordanian
companies working in the food industry participated in the Kiev International
Fair held in Ukraine last week with the participation of 21 countries from
different continents of the world.
The Jordanian pavilion witnessed a remarkable turnout of participants in the
exhibition, according to organizers of the exhibition.
Chairman of the Exhibitions Committee of the Amman Chamber of Industry Ahmed
Al-Khodari, a member of the Chamber's Board of Directors, said in a press
statement yesterday that the Jordanian pavilion in this exhibition, which was
organized by the Amman Chamber of Industry in cooperation with the Association
of Small and Medium Industries, has witnessed a large turnout of traders and
visitors interested in the exhibition. They showed great interest in the
products on offer and were impressed by the high level of these industries.
He pointed out that a number of Jordanian companies signed export contracts to
Ukraine, which will contribute to improving the trade balance between the two
countries, which tends significantly to the benefit of Ukraine, where the
volume of imports from Ukraine in 2018 amounted to about 172 million dollars
against exports of only 8 Millions of dollars.
Al-Khudari stressed the importance of participating in such international
exhibitions, which is an important marketing and promotional step for our
national industry, especially in the target markets, especially the countries
of Eastern Europe and Latin America, in addition to meeting with
representatives of international industrial companies in order to exchange
experiences and benefit from advanced technology in the food industry and
others Local institutions that are keen to apply internationally recognized
best practices, standards and standards.
He pointed out that the sector of food and food industries is one of the
promising and important sectors, which has witnessed a tangible development,
where Jordan's exports of these industries in 2018 amounted to about 524 million
dinars.
The total number of establishments operating in this sector is 2666
establishments employing about 50,000 workers, while the capital of
establishments operating in this sector amounts to 641 million dinars.The
exports of food industries to the Arab countries constitute about 90 percent of
the total exports of this sector.
