Alrai ــــ The Industrial Producer Price Index (PPI) for June 2019 fell to
121.55 from 121.56 in the same month of 2018, a decrease of 0.01% according to
the monthly report of the Department of Statistics on the Industrial Producers
Price Index.
According to the report,
the main industrial groups that contributed to this decline were manufacturing
industries by 0.77 percentage points, which has a relative importance of 86.0%,
electricity by 0.22 percentage points, which has a relative importance of 5.8%,
while extractive industries increased by 1.05 percentage points, whose relative
importance is 8.2. %.
The report showed that
the index of industrial producer prices for the month of June to 121.55
compared to 122.35 for the month of May 2019 to decline by 0.7%.
This came as a result
of the decrease of the index of manufacturing prices by 0.51 percentage points,
which has a relative importance of 86.0%, the index of extractive industries
prices by 0.03 percentage points, which has a relative importance of 8.2%, and
the index of electricity prices by 0.11 percentage points. , Whose relative
importance is 5.8%.
During the first half
of 2019, the report showed that the producer price index rose to 120.40
compared to 119.39 for the same period in 2018, increasing the index by 0.9%,
as a result of an increase in the prices of extractive industries by 1.17
percentage points, which represents a relative importance of 8.2%. When the
index of manufacturing prices decreased by 0.09 percentage points, which has a
relative importance of 86.0%, and the index of electricity prices by 0.15
percentage points, which has a relative importance of 5.8%.
