Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Dr. Tariq
Al-Hammouri discussed in his office yesterday with UAE Ambassador to Jordan
Ahmad Al-Balushi and a delegation from Expo Dubai 2020 the preparations for the
Jordanian participation in the exhibition and the facilities offered by the UAE
side.
Hammouri said that the
government is working to make the Jordanian participation in the exhibition
effective and live up to the big event hosted by the United Arab Emirates.
"We look forward not only
to Jordanian participation, but to the success of this event in the UAE and we
will do our best to contribute to achieving its goals within the framework of
the distinguished relations between the two brotherly countries," he added.
The minister pointed to the
continuation of the work of the national preparatory committee, which was
formed to participate in the exhibition, which includes representatives of the
public and private sectors.
The UAE ambassador said that
his country looks forward to Jordan's participation in the exhibition, noting
that possible facilities will be offered to the Jordanian side in this regard.
Al-Hammouri also discussed
with the UAE ambassador the mechanisms of enhancing economic cooperation and
maximizing the opportunities available in both countries.
Hammouri called on the UAE
private sector to invest in Jordan in light of the competitive advantages
available and the multiplicity of investment opportunities in various fields.
