Alrai ــــ The Jordan Enterprise Development
Corporation (JEDCO) yesterday launched two programs to support industrial and
service companies for export to provide technical and financial support to
small and medium-sized target companies in order to increase their administrative
and production capacities and to maximize exports of the industrial and
domestic services sectors in the presence of representatives from the public
and private sectors.
The program aims at supporting small,
medium and medium sized companies that have been able to export in the last
three years and are working in the engineering, architectural and IT sector
with a value of half a million dinars. The "Supporting Industrial Companies
for Export" program targets small and medium-sized industrial companies
with export readiness. Priority will be given to companies targeting
non-traditional markets (non-neighboring markets and new markets) worth JD1
million.
The Minister of Industry, Trade and
Supply Dr. Tarek Al-Hammouri said in a speech at the launch ceremony that the
two programs are considered two pioneering government projects to support the
exports of industrial and service companies. He called for focusing on products
with high added value in light of the difficult competition, pointing out that
the two programs aim at qualifying 40 industrial and service companies Increase
their exports and overcome their obstacles and export access to new export
markets.
He explained that after the initial
evaluation will be contacted four funds and the financing with them on the
mechanism of financing for these companies.
In his turn, the Executive Director
of the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation, Dr. Bashar Al-Zu'bi, said
that the support program for service companies aims at contributing to the
increase and diversification of exports of the target sectors and to enhance
the position of the Jordanian service product in the international markets,
improve the productivity and competitiveness of companies for export, Through
specialized training courses.
It also aims to prepare the strategic
and operational plans of the target companies to increase their export sales
and activate the role of the private sector as a major driver in the
comprehensive development process, solving the problem of unemployment and
providing new job opportunities, as well as improving sustainability and growth
opportunities for service companies.
The objectives of the program of
supporting industrial companies for export are to contribute to the increase
and diversification of exports of the Jordanian industrial sector, to encourage
national industries and increase their competitiveness, to encourage and
strengthen networking and linkages between local exporting and supporting
companies to enhance the competitiveness of Jordanian products in international
markets and to maximize value added and value chains. Opening up new markets
and increasing exports to current markets.
Al-Zu'bi pointed out that the desired
results of the program of supporting the service companies for export is to
provide technical and financial support to 20 service companies operating
within the targeted sectors, enhancing confidence in the Jordanian service
product internally and externally, in addition to penetrating and exporting
services to a number of new markets, From sectoral
missions B 2 B and networking with export support agencies.
It is also expected to increase the
value added of the products and services of the beneficiary companies, increase
their export sales and the number of jobs created by at least 80 jobs.
With regard to the expected results
of the program to support industrial companies for export, Dr. Zu'bi pointed
out that it is to provide technical and financial support to 20 industrial
companies, and contribute to alleviate the deficit in the balance of trade and
help Jordanian companies to access international markets and help them to raise
the technological level of production lines and build The commercial reputation
of Jordanian products in the international markets, contributing to the
creation of job opportunities for Jordanians and alleviating the unemployment
rate.
