Minister Dr. Omar al-Razzaz met on Tuesday with the chairman and members of the
Greater Irbid Municipal Council, the local councils, the provincial council and
economic and civil associations. The meeting was attended by Minister of Local
Administration Waleed Al-Masri, Minister of Digital Economy and
Entrepreneurship Muthana Gharaibeh, .
Al-Razzaz from Irbid Mayor Eng. Hussain Bani Hani talked
about a number of projects that have been completed and their aspirations to
implement a package of vital projects that are important in service,
development and investment.
The prime minister stressed the municipality's legacy,
including the largest municipality of Irbid, which is considered one of the
oldest and largest municipalities in the Kingdom. It was founded in 1881,
pointing out that the municipalities are national and community institutions
that contributed to the renaissance witnessed by Jordan in all fields and at
various levels.
"We are able, through our qualified human resources, to
enter the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution," said Al-Razzaz.
"Irbid is a pioneer in the three-dimensional industry based on the
investment of programming and tremendous technological progress, which will
transform it from a source of agriculture and food into the world of
industrialization. Because of the scarcity of water resources on which agriculture
relies, we are encouraged to be more optimistic about the ability to translate
the concept of self-reliance into innovative solutions based on the efficiency
of our human resources. " "The achievements
achieved by the Greater Irbid Municipality on more than one level and its
future aspirations to implement a package of development projects make us talk
about a road map for the integration of roles in the production of a
comprehensive and sustainable development in which the partnership between the
public and private sectors is growing as municipal projects are national
projects with positive effects at the national level. "He said. Al-Razzaz announced that the
size of the capital support directed to the municipalities will witness a
remarkable increase in 2020 along with providing facilities for grants and
loans that will be reflected on the overall work of the municipality especially
in the developmental and investment aspects so that the developmental impact
will be more noticeable and reflected in the level of local development.
The Prime Minister pledged that the government will do
everything in its power to support the vital development projects of Irbid
Municipality in accordance with its vision to produce a qualitative and
productive investment that will reflect its effects on Irbid and the homeland.
He pointed out that some of these projects will be supported by the government.

Al-Razzaz pointed out that the allocations of the project of
the Culture Square Tunnel and the accompanying traffic solutions parallel to
the budget 2020 and is in the process of issuing tender documents after the
completion of all the technical studies related to it integrated with the other
traffic solutions to come in Irbid, especially the urban transport project,
which will form Irbid and Jerash Baccarat.
He pointed out that the treatment of water losses is a
priority in the treatment of the water situation in the north, pointing out

of the support received by municipalities in the past five years, and reached
600 million dinars contributed to reduce its debt from 230 million dinars to 80
million dinars and reduced its deficit from 460 million dinars to 180 million
dinars in return for a decline in the proportion of salaries to revenues to 44
percent and increase Professional staff from 10% to 30% in addition to
cooperating with them within the framework of solid waste management strategy.
Al-Masri explained that the ministry plans to cooperate with
the municipalities to reach them in 2021 to electronic municipalities, pointing
out that it now offers about 60 electronic services. The mayor reviewed the most prominent achievements during the
past six years related to the development of infrastructure services,
modernization of the fleet of mechanisms and development of electronic services
and work to archive paper stocks in addition to lighting services, energy and
recreational services, cultural and waste management, as well as search for the
best ways to develop its development and investment services and strengthen
partnerships with the sector The private.
Bani Hani pointed to the most ambitious projects being
implemented, namely the development of the city center, the central and
regional fruit and vegetable market, a slaughterhouse for meat and poultry and
a parallel market for display and sale, in addition to transport, roads,
traffic and science projects.
MP Nidal al-Ta'ani called on the government to work on
rehabilitating the existing road running from the center of Beit Ras and
establishing a public park to serve residents of the northern areas of Irbid on
a plot of land for this purpose and to build an alternative building for the
rented health center. A health center and a high school in Beit Ras.
He called for the establishment of an educational hospital
affiliated with Yarmouk University on a piece of land owned by the university
and the establishment of an additional floor for the building of outpatients at
Princess Basma Hospital and increase the allocation of agricultural roads.
