Al-addustour ــــ Acting Chairman of the Investment Authority Faridoun
Hartouq said that the Investment Authority is actively seeking to expand the
export base of companies and to create new and alternative export markets in
view of the region's closure of markets close to national industries.
He met with the
Jordanian businessmen delegation which participated in the Kenyan capital The
meeting was attended by Jordanian Ambassador to Nairobi Dr. Suleiman Arabiyat
and representative of Jordan Chamber of Industry.
He said that the launch of
non-traditional markets such as the Kenyan market is one of the important
markets for Jordanian exports as one of the promising and large markets capable
of absorbing many products in the industrial sector.
He added that the Investment Authority will provide full
support to the Jordanian industries by providing the necessary support for
external export exhibitions The Jordanian-Jordanian Chamber of Industry and
Industry Minister Fathi Al-Jaghbair affirmed that the organization of this
mission comes after the success of a number of Jordanian industrial missions to
Kenya during the past two years and T resulted in the high rate of Jordanian exports to the Kenyan market and
thus promote trade with Kenya to cover all economic fields.
"The Kingdom has a
competitive edge of more than 46 domestic products to enter and compete in the
Kenyan market. It is concentrated in the sectors of construction, chemical,
cosmetic, plastic, rubber, leather, engineering, electrical, wood and furniture.
Adding that there is a responsibility also rests with the Jordanian
companies to follow up the efforts of the Jordan Chamber of Industry and the
Investment Authority to promote these markets.
Dr. Suleiman Arbiyat, the
Jordanian ambassador to Kenya, stressed the importance of the African market in
general and the Kenyan in particular to the Jordanian products, pointing to the
high royal outlook that opened the way for Jordanian investors to enter the
African markets from the Kenyan gate which is characterized by the geographical
location near the Kingdom and the need of the African market for more products.

The Jordanian Businessmen's
Mission to Nairobi Kenya was organized jointly by the Investment Authority and
the Jordan Chamber of Industry within the framework of the planned activities
for the African market during the period from 18-21 / 2019/6.
The delegation
included ten participants representing various industrial sectors, food,
engineering, Pharmaceuticals, electrical cables, calcium carbonate, and tourism
promotion authority for tourism promotion in Jordan.
