Jaghbair calls for reciprocity with Egypt

Ammon ــــ The head of the Amman and Jordan Chambers of Industry, Eng. Fathi Al-Jaghibir, stressed the importance of industrial body unity in light of the many challenges facing this sector. He called on the government to take appropriate administrative measures to protect national industries on the basis of reciprocity. The Egyptian minister stressed the need to provide the Chamber with any problems faced by industrialists in any export market, to be followed up in coordination with official and governmental bodies. 

Al-Ghaibir said during a meeting of the General Authority of the Chamber of Industry in Amman that the chamber's board has followed the obstacles facing Jordanian exports to a number of major markets and promising markets, including the Egyptian, Iraqi, Palestinian, African, American, Singaporean markets. , Chinese and German, where the files of these markets were distributed to the members of the Board of Directors of the chambers of industry Jordan and Oman.

He explained that the chamber, through its follow-up to the files of these markets, will explore the export opportunities in these markets, in addition to identifying the Jordanian goods that can be found in it, as well as studying the laws and legislation governing the trade of these countries.

Abdul Hakim Zaza, member of the Board of Directors of Jordan Chamber of Industry, responsible for the Iraqi file in the Council, reviewed the most important developments related to exports to Iraq. He pointed out that until now, the decision on the shipping process between the two countries has not been implemented through Door to Door. Which was issued by the Iraqi government for the purpose of exemption from customs duties has not been activated, noting that the Chamber will organize sectoral visits of industrialists in various sectors to Baghdad to hold direct bilateral working meetings with traders there, in addition to that will be working on a wide Jordanian participation in Baghdad International Fair Who was shot M in the month of November next.

Eng. Ahmad Al-Bass, member of the Board of Directors of Jordan Chamber of Industry, responsible for the Singapore market file, said that the Singapore market is one of the promising markets for Jordanian products, especially for Dead Sea and olive oil products.

Tameem Al-Qasrawi, a member of the Board of Directors of the Amman Chamber of Industry and the Chairman of the Steering Committee of the First Industrial Conference, presented a summary of the themes of this conference, which aims at finding solutions to the obstacles facing the industrial sector.

For his part, Jordan Chamber of Industry Chairman Mohammed Waleed Al-Jaitan, the official of the Egyptian and Palestinian markets, stressed the importance of these two markets for Jordanian products. The Egyptian market is considered a large and important market in the event of facilitating the registration of Jordanian products with the concerned authorities there, The geographical proximity between the two countries, in addition to the possibility of amending the Paris Agreement, which will govern the economic relationship between them, will lead to the export of exports to this promising market, referring to his meeting with the Palestinian Prime Minister last week, which confirmed In which he stressed the importance of replacing Jordanian products with the products of the occupation authorities in the Palestinian territories.

Dr. Eyad Abuhltam, member of the Board of Directors of the Amman Chamber of Industry, explained that the frequent fire accidents witnessed by Jordanian factories recently indicate that there is a defect in the safety system in the industrial sector. He called for finding a mechanism for financing public safety systems and updating them in factories at constant interest during a certain period.

Dr. Nael al-Husami, director general of the Amman Chamber of Industry, said that the strong relations between Germany and Jordan should be reflected positively on economic relations between them. He said that the German-Arab Chamber of Commerce had agreed on a number of measures to improve exports Jordan to Germany.

At the end of the meeting, the participants from the industrial sector reviewed the most important obstacles and problems facing their exports to a number of markets, headed by the Egyptian and Iraqi markets.
