Al-Hamouri: The National Economy is Achieving Positive Results

Alrai ـــــ Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Dr. Tarek Al-Hamouri paid a field visit to the King Hussein Bin Talal Development Area, covering an area of about 21 square kilometers, during which he met investors. 

The visit was attended by the head of Amman and Jordan Chamber of Industry Fathi Al-Jaghbair and the heads of the chambers of industry in Irbid, Hani Abu Hassan, Zarqa Faris Hamouda and the CEO of the Industrial Cities Company Omar Juyed. 

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply stressed the government's keenness to develop various national industries and work to stimulate them and address the challenges facing them in a way that supports the national economy and provide job opportunities for the countrymen, pointing out that the development zone in Mafraq is promising and has many investment opportunities. 

Al-Hamouri pointed out that the national economy is achieving positive results and that government plans are aimed at achieving economic growth and good growth rates, stressing that the government will not hesitate at all to provide all necessary facilities for investors in development areas, 

The Acting Director of Mafraq Development Company, Engineer Louay Al-Sarayra, presented a brief about the region and the privileges that are available from the infrastructure with the highest specifications and enjoy the financial and procedural incentives included in the investment law. He pointed out that the region is an incubator for industries and an export portal. Said that there are 22 working factories in the region, which provided about 896 job opportunities, and the employment rate for the people of the province reaches 52%. There are 13 factories under construction, which is expected to start at the beginning of next year, Ana is still under design, stressing the important and attractive investment Anhaanasr. 

Development Council member Abdulla Nueifah Shdeifat said that the Mafraq Development Zone is a major pillar in the state of production, pointing to the readiness of infrastructure at the highest level, indicating that the presence of solar power projects on an area of two thousand acres. 

Shdeifat pointed out the importance of activating the land port project in the region, which serves and around it, especially that the area on land border ports including (Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Syria) and a factor to attract investors in the transport sector and logistics services, similar to what is in Aqaba. 

The Minister of Industry and Trade toured a number of existing investments in the Mafraq Development Zone and listened to the progress of investment projects and investors' demands. During his visit to the factories, he commended all the issues raised by investors. He praised the high technology and modern technology for these investments, Jordanians. 

Al-Hamwi also visited warehouses of wheat storage in Al-Ghabawi area, which contributed to increase the storage capacity of the Kingdom of wheat and the absorption capacity of 350 thousand tons. 

It is noteworthy that the establishment of the development zone in Mafraq was established in 2006 and was a royal initiative to distribute the gains of development in the provinces, as Mafraq Governorate has an important strategic location for the success of projects in the region, especially in the presence of incentives to investors to establish their economic and investment projects.
