The Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply Yousef Al-Shamali said that the committee formed to study the cost of the dairy industry will start its meeting tomorrow. 

He pointed out that the committee includes the Ministry of Industry and Trade, a representative of the dairy factories, a representative of Jordan Chamber of Industry, a representative of the Food Products Syndicate and the Ministry of Agriculture. 

Al-Shamali said that any study issued on the cost of factories and companies issued by the non-specific committee will not be taken. 

It is noteworthy that the government has worked to reduce the sales tax by zero on many agricultural sectors and inputs to the process of manufacturing dairy, including milk, confirming that it will review the impact of sales tax on dairy within the comprehensive review of sales tax on all sectors declared by the government. 

The government lifted the sales tax on dairy products to 10 percent in the 2018 economic reform program.
