The Income Tax and Sales Tax Department has focused its attention on the various forms of tax evasion in various sectors, through its teams to track tax evaders. 

Since the beginning of this year, the Income and Sales Tax Department has managed to control a total of 1,570 cases of tax evasion. 

The taxes imposed on these cases amounted to about 162 million dinars, except for fines, where the value of the sales tax imposed on one of the cases that were finally seized on 100 million dinars, except for fines. 

The department said in a statement on Thursday that it was continuing to follow up on its programmed plan to track evaders from various sectors and to reach taxpayers who must legally register sales tax or pay the income tax they have to pay according to law. 

She stressed that the Directorate of Combating Tax Evasion also follows cases of evasion reported by different parties.
