Jordan: Egyptian Labour is Part of The Economy and Production Process in The Kingdom

The Jordanian sides, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Omar al-Razzaz and Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Medbouli, held a meeting on Wednesday at the twenty-eighth session of the Jordanian Joint Higher Committee in Cairo. 

The two ministers discussed the importance of the meetings of the committee in enhancing bilateral relations and developing cooperation fields as a step towards economic integration between the two countries. 

During the talks, the two sides agreed to find immediate solutions to obstacles facing the process of joint cooperation and to set a timetable for the implementation of what has been agreed upon in all fields. 

The Egyptian side stressed the importance of finding an immediate solution to the complaints of the industrial sector related to the registration procedures of Jordanian companies inside Egypt and granting them a preferential advantage and fixing a maximum period of two weeks to complete the registration process and take the Egyptian side to further facilities at the crossings to enter Jordanian goods and goods. 

The Egyptian side also promised to review the procedures related to the registration of Jordanian medicines in the Egyptian market, especially medicines that are not produced in Egypt. 

The Jordanian side stressed that the Egyptian workers in Jordan are brothers and their families and they are part of the march of the economy and production and that the contribution of these workers in the sectors of agriculture, construction and services is very basic and that their children will be treated in public schools in Jordan to treat Jordanian students in terms of school fees. 

The two sides agreed to form a working group from the government and private sectors in both countries to study the most appropriate formula for setting up a logistic area in Jordan to export services and contribute to the reconstruction and development process in neighboring countries. 

The two sides discussed the possibility of reaching an agreement on the convicts in the two countries to complete the duration of their sentences in his country and for humanitarian and social reasons. 

They also agreed to strengthen the connection of electricity, gas and petroleum products and to develop plans to meet any increase in demand within the two countries or sister countries. 

Prime Minister Dr. Omar al-Razzaz said in a speech during the meeting that the meetings of the Jordanian-Egyptian Joint High Committee come within the framework of the established relations between the two countries, which are always strengthened by the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II and his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. 

He pointed out that the two countries agree on the visions and have the same challenges and opportunities as they live in an inflamed neighborhood and seek to work and coordinate together to mitigate the repercussions of regional crises. 

He pointed out that the continuous communication between the ministers from both sides contributes to addressing all issues and finding solutions on any impediments to the march of cooperation, stressing the importance of follow-up to ensure the implementation of what was agreed upon. 

The Prime Minister pointed out that the delegation of the private sector participating in the meetings of the Committee, which includes the heads of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Jordan and Chairman of the Association of businessmen, which represent the production sector and have a real role in increasing trade exchange between the two countries. 

On the Egyptian employment in Jordan, the Prime Minister stressed that it is part of the march of the economy and production, pointing out that the government has taken measures to regulate the labor market, especially since there is part of it is not registered and therefore there is no documentation on the preparation and areas of work and expressed the government's willingness to provide more facilities in sectors that need Labor market . Dr. Al-Razzaz added that there are great opportunities to maximize transport and tourism by increasing the number of flights and capacities for Royal Jordanian and Egyptian Airlines. 

He pointed out the importance of facilitating the entry procedures of Jordanian products exported to the Egyptian market and not delay in the procedures of inspection and inspection, which affects many of the perishable goods in addition to facilitating the registration procedures of Jordanian companies. Al-Razzaz pointed out that the pharmaceutical sector in Jordan has an international reputation and the Jordanian medicine is exported to Europe, the United States and South and East Asian countries, pointing out the importance of facilitating registration procedures in Egypt.For his part, Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Medbouli said that the most distinguished of the meetings of the Committee is the spirit of brotherhood, openness and transparency in dealing with the issues. This stems from the strength of the historical relations between the two brotherly countries and pointed out that Egypt and Jordan face challenges and regional circumstances. To meet the challenges and implications of them. 

He stressed the importance of opening and expanding the horizons of investment cooperation to the private sector in both countries and removing any bureaucratic or legislative obstacles. 

The Jordanian and Egyptian sides signed eight memorandums of understanding, executive programs and protocols of cooperation that regulate the fields of cooperation between the two countries in a number of fields, including a protocol of cooperation in the field of administration, public service and civil service signed by Jordanian Minister of Labor Nidal Batayneh. The protocol was signed by Minister of Transport Anmar Al-Khasawneh and Egyptian Minister of Transport Kamel Al-Wazir and a memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the Consumer Protection Agency and the Jordan Market Control Directorate signed by Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Tariq Al-Hamouri and Egyptian Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Dr. Ali Al-Meselhi. 

The two sides also signed the bilateral plan of cooperation protocol in the field of public administration and civil service signed by Minister of Labor Nidal Batayneh, Minister of Manpower Mohammed Saffan and an executive program in the field of investment promotion and protocol of cooperation in the field of free zones investment signed by Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Tariq Hamouri and Investment Minister Dr. Sahar Nasr. The signing of a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of housing, construction and construction signed by the Minister of State for Prime Minister Sami al-Daoud and the Minister of Investment and International Cooperation in Egypt and a memorandum of understanding in the field of radio and television cooperation between the National Information Authority in Egypt and the Radio and Television Foundation in Jordan, signed by the Minister of Education, Walid Maani and Minister of Investment in Egypt. Prime Minister Dr. Omar al-Razzaz and the Egyptian prime minister signed the minutes of the meetings of the Jordanian-Egyptian Higher Committee at its twenty-eighth session. 

Prime Minister Dr. Omar al-Razzaz and his Egyptian counterpart, Dr. Mustafa Medbouli, held a press conference during which they stressed the importance of the meetings of the Jordanian-Egyptian Joint High Committee which is one of the oldest and most regular committees in supporting and strengthening bilateral cooperation relations in various fields. 

Dr. Al-Razzaz stressed that the purpose of the committee's work is to overcome any obstacles to the process of deep brotherly relations and to look at the prospects of cooperation at the regional level. 

"We live together in a hot region and successive crises, and we must guard and help our brothers to overcome any obstacles and lay the foundations for our integration," he said. 

He stressed that the meetings of the Higher Committee formed a brotherly meeting based on clear directives from His Majesty King Abdullah II and his Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi to elevate this established relationship to a more integrated and deeper stage than it was. 

"It was a rich and frank meeting in which we identified the obstacles, the challenges we face and the great opportunities for the two countries at the regional level," he added. 

On the subject of Egyptian labor, he stressed that they are our sons and it was agreed that the children of Egyptians in Jordan would be treated like Jordanian students in public schools. "This is a duty we offer to our brothers." 

The study also discussed the possibility of reaching an agreement on those sentenced to spend their sentences in their country of origin and for humanitarian and social reasons and relief of their relatives during their visit. 

He pointed out that the two sides identified the major challenges and opportunities available in the sectors of air transport, export and trade exchange and agreed to find solutions to them, stressing the importance of the energy sector of the two countries and connectivity with the region. 

Al-Razzaz pointed to the agreement on the exchange of experience in the curricula, especially scientific, which witnessed a qualitative leap in both countries, as well as the establishment of a joint logistics area to export services to neighboring countries. 

The premier stressed that the meetings of the 28th session of the Higher Committee reflected the determination of the two countries to move forward in enhancing relations and cooperation in spite of the regional challenges, setting up a follow-up timetable and implementing what was agreed upon. 

For his part, the Egyptian Prime Minister said that the talks dealt with economic cooperation and the volume of trade exchange, which still has a lot to increase and growth and the emphasis on resolving any obstacles facing the private sector in both countries. 

He said that the committee has seen what is facing the investments in both countries, and it was agreed to set up an implementation plan to solve the problems very urgently. 

He pointed out that the Egyptian government has taken a decision to give the issue of registration of Jordanian companies in the Egyptian market the importance necessary and give them preferential advantage so that the registration period does not exceed two weeks. 

"We talked about the integration of the two countries into other markets in the region, some of which need reconstruction, and we have the ability to enter the markets in the Arab region and Africa and benefit from the competitive advantages of the two countries and their geographic location," he said. 

On the Egyptian labor, the Egyptian Prime Minister thanked the Jordanian government for the positive steps in dealing with Egyptian labor and the promise to resolve any obstacles encountered.
