Singapore - His Majesty King Abdullah II on Thursday attended part of the Jordan-Singapore Business Forum, which was held on the sidelines of His Majesty's visit to Singapore, with the participation of dozens of representatives of the business community and companies in both countries.

The two-day forum focused on exploring opportunities for enhancing cooperation between Jordan and Singapore in economic, investment, trade, industrial, tourism, telecommunications, information technology, agriculture and energy. During a meeting with private sector representatives from the two countries, King Abdullah stressed the importance of the forum in exploring the opportunities for establishing economic and investment partnerships that benefit the two countries. He expressed Jordan's keenness to expand economic cooperation and enhance the level of trade exchange with Singapore. Vital.

The King highlighted the importance of the role of the private sector in promoting economic cooperation between the two countries, pointing to the measures taken by Jordan to improve the investment environment and attract investors.

In this regard, His Majesty referred to Jordan's qualified and ambitious human resources, investment opportunities and incentives and a strategic location that enables investors to enter international markets.

Singapore's Minister of Trade and Industry Chan Chun Singh spoke about a number of sectors that Jordan and Singapore will promote in the coming years, including increased trade, renewable energy, water, telecommunications, information technology and entrepreneurship. He pointed out that Jordan and Singapore can become centers of investment, so that Jordanian investors benefit from Singapore's entry into the Asian markets, and Singapore investors benefit from Jordan's entry into the Middle East and North Africa markets.

Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Tariq Al-Hamouri and Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Muthanna Gharaibeh briefed the participants on the results of the business forum, the opportunities for cooperation and the steps that the government will work to promote and facilitate economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.

Representatives of the Jordanian and Singapore private sectors signed a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding on the sidelines of the Jordan-Singapore Business Forum.

The meeting was attended by the King's Advisor for Communication and Coordination, the Minister of Education, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and the Jordanian Ambassador to Singapore.

In a press interview, Singapore Business Federation Chairman SSS Thieu said his Majesty's visit to Singapore would result in greater cooperation between the two countries. He said that Singaporean and Jordanian businessmen had been coordinating a close visit to Jordan to follow up and explore opportunities. The head of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Nael Kabariti, said that the delegation of the Jordanian private sector, which includes 25 Jordanian companies, held meetings with several Singapore companies, resulting in the signing of 11 joint agreements.

"We are looking at the Singaporean economic sector to enable us to enter the Asian markets, as well as Jordan to become a hub for Singaporean companies and to enter the Arab and African markets through its presence in the Kingdom," he said, adding that there will be a follow-up meeting in October.

"The participation provided the opportunity to promote Dead Sea products and benefit from the Singapore site to enter the markets of East Asia," said Hamam Ziadat, president of the Dead Sea Products Manufacturers Association.

"We have signed a partnership agreement with one of the largest companies in Singapore to open a branch in Singapore that will help expand the user base of the company's applications in the world," said Khalid Zaatara, founder of an IT and application company.
