Minister of Planning and International Cooperation and
Minister of State for Economic Affairs Dr. Mohammed Al-Assaas confirmed that
the private sector is the desired economic development partner during a meeting
with the chairman of the Jordanian Businessmen Association Hamdi Tabbaa and a
number of the members of the Association at the ministry's headquarters on
Sunday.
He stressed the need for concerted efforts by the public and private sectors to
make Jordan an Arab hub in a number of sectors, such as IT, healthcare,
tourism, logistics and consulting, as well as boosting national industries to
increase Jordanian exports through the redistribution of sector- Economic
growth in accordance with their contribution to GDP, to maintain stable
economic growth rates.
He added that the ministry is working to find mechanisms and strategic plans to
link them to the general policy of the state and to develop an appropriate
working environment to enable the private sector to develop its business as the
main employer of national labour. He stressed the role of the important
Jordanian businessmen association and that the private sector is a key factor
in supporting the economy. , Stressing the importance of enhancing the
confidence of investors in investment in Jordan and to contribute to the
promotion of sustainable development through the promotion of efforts to
attract investments.
For his part, Hamdi Tabbaa that the Assembly has prepared a plan to stimulate
the national economy for the year 2019 Sector, and took the Assembly to
organize workshops with a selection of the Jordanian public and private sector
to discuss the axes of the plan on the main economic sectors and the challenges
faced by each sector and the challenges to come up with recommendations Can be
applied to the ground.
He pointed out that three workshops aimed at the industrial sector, the banking
sector and the Amman Financial Market have been held in 2019. The
recommendations of the private sector of Jordanian businessmen in the three
sectors have been submitted to the government for consideration and
participation in the implementation of these recommendations. .
Al-Tabaa pointed out that the Association will work to raise a study to the
Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation on transforming the Kingdom
into a single development area to remove tax distortions, in addition to
studying the investment law in place to serve the national economy.
Al-Tabaa invited Dr. Mohammed Al-Assas to participate in the Seventh Conference
of Jordanian Businessmen and Investors Abroad, to be held at the beginning of
August this year under the patronage of Samia Ownership, and to confirm the
role of the Ministry of Planning to be a partner in making the conference a
success for our children. And discussed the themes of the conference and the
mechanism of presenting investmentable projects in the Kingdom in accordance
with a new vision to be agreed upon with the Investment Authority.
The meeting was attended by members of the Board of Directors of Awni Al Saket,
Eng. Abdul Halim Abdeen, Eng. Hossam Al-Din Al-Hudhad and General Manager of
the Association Tariq Hijazi.
