General
Manager of Income and Sales Tax Hussam Abu Ali said that the beginning of July
is the fixed date for the implementation of the tax billing system.
Abu Ali said in a statement to Al Rai that the department will start
preparations for the implementation of the system after the Eid, adding that it
will include all shops, clinics and offices of doctors, engineers, contractors
and car showrooms in Amman and the governorates.
The system comes as part of the income and sales tax law, which was implemented
earlier this year and aims to reduce evasion and avoidance of tax and it is
hoped that it will save the treasury hundreds of millions of dinars.
The system requires the installation of equipment and equipment in the target
areas, which are directly connected to the tax department and requires all the targets
to issue an invoice for each business indicating the description of the goods
or service provided, the price and quantity sold, and also the amount of the
general sales tax calculated on the invoice.
According to the tax department, small shops in remote areas and villages will
be excluded from the application of the billing system.
