The
head of the general union of workers in textile and clothing industry Fathallah
al-Omrani expected that the value of Jordan's exports of clothing to America
during the current year will increase from two billion dinars.
He added in a statement to (Al
Rai) that about (63) international brand working in Jordan to produce clothes
of high quality and rare international specifications.
Al-Omrani said that in the
year 2018 Jordan's exports of clothing amounted to about one million and 900
thousand dinars through more than (20) production branches of clothing
operating in Jordan including all its regions.
Al-Hassan industrial city in
Irbid province is the leading Jordanian city producing clothes, according to
Al-Omrani, who confirmed that the industrial city of Dulayl, followed by Sahab,
Muqair, Tafila, Ajloun and other areas where there are production lines for
clothes.
According to Al-Amrani, the
clothing sector in Jordan provides about 20,000 jobs for Jordanians and provides
about 54,000 job opportunities. This confirms the fact that the garment
industry is a promising sector and is the only one capable of operating the
largest number of unemployed. For work in Jordan.
Al-Omrani wished to complete a
foreign investment in the King Hussein Bin Talal Development Area in the
garment industry after he purchased a piece of land (283) acres to solve the
problem of unemployed in the region.
