Al-Hammouri: Industry is one of the Largest Sectors Generating Jobs and Employment, which must be Supported in A Real Way

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Dr. Tarik Al-Hammouri inaugurated the scientific day of the Industrial Engineering Department at the University of Science and Technology, organized by SAGO International, under the title "Industrial Engineering towards Entrepreneurship and Innovation".

Dr. Al-Hammouri[SA1]  said that the Jordanian industrial sectors witnessed a remarkable improvement since the beginning of this year, which is positively reflected on the overall national economy as the industry is of great importance in raising growth rates, developing local industries and generating more job opportunities. He added that the industrial sector is one of the largest sectors generating employment and employment, which requires support in a real way and not only facilitate procedures, but the development of effective mechanisms to reduce the cost of production and energy.

Hammouri pointed to the development of Jordanian industry despite the difficulties and regional challenges faced by the Kingdom, pointing out that the ministry seeks to overcome the obstacles facing the industrial sector in all fields.

He said that 23 percent of the creative output produced by the Arab region comes from young Jordanian graduates and those who are in school despite the size of the challenges.

University President Dr. Saeb Khreisat said that the university has taken it upon itself to reach the ranks of international universities in accordance with the best indicators of higher education and scientific research in the world, which necessarily require the achievement of standards of good performance and effectiveness. These criteria were included within the strategic plan of the university, linking with industry ».

He added that a number of specialists at the university have worked in coordination with our partners to study this link with the industry and its active dimensions in order to set goals that enhance communication between the university and the industrial sectors and to improve the outputs of engineering training, including the involvement of companies and factories in following up and evaluating the outputs of training programs. , With emphasis on directing graduate projects to study practical practical ideas that offer solutions to industry problems.

He explained that this scientific day comes in response to the urgent need to guide students to the ideas of pioneering and unusual, to invent everything that is new because of their important role in the progress of human societies.

Dr. Khreisat pointed out that the university achieved advanced positions in a number of international classifications. The university ranked first among the universities in the Arab world. It ranked 351-400 among the world's universities and ranked 58 among the universities of the economically emerging countries. Achieving engineering, medical and computer science programs are internationally advanced centres in various major international classifications, in addition to a number of international credits.

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Suhail Kiwan, said that the College has worked to increase the link with the industry through several means, including launching strategic projects and increasing cooperation with the professional and industrial sector by involving private sector engineers in evaluating students' graduation projects and reviewing and developing the study plans through Obtain feedback from the private sector to include in these plans the skills and skills required by the labour market.

He pointed out that the Faculty of Engineering at the university achieved advanced positions in the international classifications.
