Baghdad, April 29 (Petra) - Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Tariq al-Hammouri will hold talks with the Iraqi side on the signing of a number of economic agreements, including the completion of procedures for the establishment of a joint industrial zone on the border between the two countries. 

Al-Hammouri said in a press statement on Monday that the General Assembly of the Jordanian-Iraqi Industries Company, which is equally owned by the two governments and is responsible for implementing the project, will hold a meeting in Baghdad today to discuss the preliminary measures and approve the subsequent steps. 

He stressed that these talks aimed at implementing the economic agreements reached by the two sides in early February, pointing to the Kingdom's desire to increase the volume of trade and economic exchange with Iraq, through companies in the public and private sectors. 

He said: Jordanian companies have a desire to invest in Iraq, and stimulate mutual visits between traders in all sectors to achieve the vision of the two governments in this area. 

A Jordanian industrial and commercial delegation headed by Minister Al-Hamouri visits Baghdad to coordinate on boosting joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries and discuss removing obstacles that still face the trade movement in both directions. 

The head of the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce, Jaafar al-Hamdani, said during his meeting with the minister and the accompanying delegation in Baghdad that Jordanian and Iraqi relations are constantly evolving. Iraq and Jordan have a desire to raise the value of trade exchange and develop bilateral relations in the interest of the two brotherly peoples. , And activating cooperation in many sectors, including economic and investment. 

Al-Hamdani appreciated Jordan's supportive stance and offered support to Iraq in confronting the challenges, including helping to combat terrorism. 

The head of the Investment Center at the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce called on Jordanian companies to participate in trade fairs held in Iraq.
