The head of the Amman and Jordan Chambers of Industry, Eng.
Fathi Al-Jaghbair, stressed that the Amman Chamber of Industry is keen to
support the industrial associations, believing that their relationship with
these associations is complementary and not competitive, and did not hesitate
to support any activity of these associations in the interest of its employees.
During his meeting with the President and members of the
Jordanian Association of Businesswomen in the presence of the Vice President of
the Chamber Eng. Musa Al-Saket, Al-Jaghbir said that the weak role of women in
Jordanian economic life is one of the main problems facing the national
economy. On the one hand, it deprives the country of great productive potential
The national economy, and on the other hand increases the dependency ratio in
Jordanian society, which confirms the growing importance of the existence of
the Jordanian Industrial Society of Businesswomen and other associations that
help to promote women's contribution to the economy.
For her part, the President of the Jordanian Association for
Businesswomen, Niven Shawabkeh, said that the association will work to enhance
the role of women in the industrial sector by helping them to market their
products by participating in local and international exhibitions with a special
wing of the association, in addition to providing legal, technical and
financial advice.
She added that the main goal of the association is to create
an umbrella for women's work, which draws its literature from civil society,
which is capable of influencing economic policies.
She pointed out that the Board of Directors of the Assembly,
which was recently elected to chair it, includes: Salma Al Maghraby as Vice
President, Sindas Samara as Secretary of the Secretaries, Violet Torsian
Treasurer, Dina Khayat, Abeer Obaidat, May Anabtawi and Rabi Daghmush. Empowering
women economically, and providing practical expertise within the reach of new
members.
She pointed out that the Association provides many services
to members, including legal, technical and financial advice, and a product box
for the members of the Assembly with the aim of selling to companies,
institutions and individuals.
