The head of the Made in Jordan
campaign, Vice President of the Amman Chamber of Industry, Eng. Musa Al-Saket,
affirmed that the support of the national industry contributes to solving the
problem of unemployment. The industrial sector, which currently employs more
than 240 thousand workers and workers, more jobs for Jordanians, despite all
the challenges and obstacles facing the national industry in the domestic
market and export markets.
"The high unemployment rate in Jordan, with more than half a million
expatriate workers, indicates a dysfunction in the labor market produced by
education output," he said in a speech at the Training Development Forum
for the National Industry, organized by the National Industries Support
Committee of the Jordan Engineers Association.
Al-Saket pointed out that the Amman Chamber of Industry has launched a program
to link engineering graduation projects in the industrial sector, in which
engineering graduation projects are carried out to obtain the bachelor's degree
for various engineering disciplines by students of engineering colleges based
on the needs and demands specified by the factories. In 2013, an agreement was
signed with the Jordanian Engineers Association to organize a competition for
engineering graduation projects implemented in the industrial sector in order
to develop the level of engineering graduation projects and the quality of
their outputs and stimulate creativity and innovation.
Al-Saket reviewed the themes of the "Made in Jordan" campaign
launched by the Amman Chamber of Industry and the Jordanian Enterprise
Development Corporation, and turned into a national campaign involving many
ministries and official bodies as well as all industrial chambers.
He pointed out that the campaign included many axes, including: promotion,
media, field visits, meetings and workshops, and designing a slogan for the
campaign in order to facilitate the identification of Jordanian products and
distinguish them from other goods in the markets, in addition to the state of
production.
Al-Saket appreciated the role played by the Jordanian Engineers Association
under the chairmanship of Eng. Ahmed Samara Al-Zu'bi and the committee
supporting the national industries in the union in support of a campaign made
in Jordan and supporting training and development in the industry.
