Al-Hamouri: We will not Allow any Country to put Obstacles to our Exports

Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Dr. Tarik Al-Hammouri said that the ministry will not accept any obstacles and obstacles imposed on national exports from any country that facilitates Jordan to enter its products to the local market. 

During a meeting organized by the Jordanian-European Business Association (JEPA) on Wednesday, Al-Hammouri called on the Ministry of Trade and Industry to inform the ministry of any impediments and impediments facing national exports from any country to follow up and seek to resolve them. 

The Minister of Industry confirmed that statistical data for the performance of many economic sectors showed positive results for the national economy, especially exports, investment volume, financial results of companies, registration of trademarks and tourism sector. 

The volume of national exports increased by 13.6 percent during the first month of this year, while the number of registered companies increased by 14 percent in the first quarter of this year and the company's registered capital for the period increased by 34 percent compared to the same period last year. 

"The number of registered brands through the ministry has increased by 24 percent in the last three months of this year, and the Kingdom's revenues from tourism have increased by 10 percent in the first two months of this year," Hammouri said. 

He stressed that the ministry is working hard to simplify procedures to facilitate the achievements of transactions and shorten the time and efforts on citizens and investors, through the launch of electronic services that allow the completion of some transactions and procedures electronically. 

Al Hammouri said that another number of electronic services will soon be launched in the framework of the Ministry's efforts to enhance the investment environment and the belief in improving the continuous development of our services to the recipients of the service and implementing the plans and policies adopted by the government in transforming the provision of electronic services. 

He pointed out that the work is currently focused on the development of the direct contact with the investor, which includes the stages of registration, licensing, inspection, insolvency and closure, pointing out that the ministry is also working on the completion of registration procedures in the Directorate of the Commercial Registry and the control of companies. 

Al-Hammouri expected that the study of 9 investment projects in vital sectors will be implemented soon in partnership with the private sector at the end of this year. He pointed out that the government will present these projects as investment opportunities in the market based on the principle of partnership between the private public sector, operation. 

The Minister of Industry that the government is seeking to find a tool for passing governments in connection with the implementation of projects in partnership with the private sector where it was agreed with several bodies to establish a working group and received pledges from international institutions to finance this work through a committee studying projects implemented with the private sector, That the public-private partnership unit in the Ministry of Finance will follow up. 

Regarding the Iraqi file, Al-Hammouri stressed that Jordan is linked to historical relations with the brotherly Iraq, pointing out that the trade movement with Iraq has not stopped and is now witnessing tangible development at various levels. 

He referred to the projects and agreements that were agreed with the Iraqi government, especially with regard to exempting a number of Jordanian goods exported to Iraq from customs duties and allowing trucks to enter directly into the territories of the two parties as well as work on establishing the joint economic zone. 

He pointed out that Jordanian and Iraqi trucks began to enter the territories directly and that the number of visas granted to drivers to enter Iraq reached 150 drivers, calling on the private sector to benefit from this decision and start export operations to the Iraqi market. 

He stressed that Jordan and Iraq are continuing to complete the joint economic city, which will be on the borders of the two countries, as there are meetings expected to end this month in Baghdad to discuss this file. 

For his part, the chairman of the Jordanian-European Business Association (JEPA) Gamal Fariz referred to the role of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply in contributing to building and strengthening a competitive national and global economy in partnership with the private sector and enhancing the investment environment and the business environment to be more competitive through the development of economic policies and legislation including Ensures the protection of the rights of both consumers and the business sector. 

He stressed the importance of building on the positive results achieved by the national economy in several indicators, especially exports, financial results of companies and the registration of trademarks and tourism sector, pointing out the importance of other sectors such as transport achieved positive results during the coming period Praise praised the support provided by the European Union to the Kingdom, Calling for the need to benefit from the network of agreements linking the Kingdom with many countries of the world and the recent achievements of understandings with brotherly Iraq in increasing national exports.
