Launch of an Economic Stimulus Plan Backed by A Package of Measures

An informed source confirmed that the government's economic team is currently working on an "economic stimulus plan" covering all economic, industrial, commercial, service and investment sectors to boost economic growth and employment. 

The source, who preferred not to refer to the "opinion", that the group meets periodically and the last meetings yesterday, to put all the scenarios that the government can do to increase economic activity in the Kingdom, explaining that the plan in its final framework will be announced soon. 

The source added that the plan includes measures aimed at preserving the deficit in the trade balance and activating some vital sectors that contribute to the full movement of the markets and help in employment and employment, in addition to announcing a package of measures, some of which will be taken during this year and next year within a specific timetable. The source said that one of the most important objectives of the plan is to develop a comprehensive vision for the current and future stage, including laying the foundations for partnership with the private sector in major projects that the government intends to implement and with the approval of international bodies and donors in addition to reducing energy costs on productive sectors and enhancing their competitiveness. 

The source pointed out that the ministries of finance, planning, industry, trade, investment and energy are working in a coordinated manner to ensure a feasible implementation plan that serves the economic conditions and contributes to the addition of the treasury by activating the trade movement and increasing its turnover after it has slowed down, likely to make amendments to some legislation to keep pace with the economic stimulus plan Expected to be announced for the next two years. 

The source added that the conditions of the region and the events of the neighborhood and the closure of the common border, and the reception of Syrian refugees added burdens on the treasury and contributed to the disruption of development plans in the Kingdom, and that the past months of ongoing meetings, including the London conference and other Arab meetings in addition to the World Economic Forum will be a real opportunity for the government To develop their perceptions and economic plan for the future, especially in the light of the international support witnessed by Jordan.
