The
Amman International Fair of Clothing and Textiles will continue its activities
at the Amman International Fair on the Airport Road with the participation of
70 companies from inside and outside the Kingdom.
The representative of the
leather industry and handicrafts sector in the Jordan Chamber of Industry, Eng.
Ihab Qadri pointed out that the exhibition organized by Pulse Al Hayat for
organizing exhibitions and conferences aims at highlighting the national clothing
and footwear industry and marketing Jordan as an advanced country in the
manufacture of handcrafts.
The exhibition, which was
opened by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Dr. Tarik Al-Hamouri, was
attended by 40 companies from Turkey, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria and 30 Jordanian
companies. The exhibition is aimed at highlighting the clothing, footwear and
development industry in Jordan and the participating countries.
He said exports of Jordanian
clothing amounted to about 1.8 billion dollars a year, accounting for about 24
percent of industrial exports despite the challenges faced by the sewing
industry and the high cost of production and lack of manpower.
