A government source is expected to complete the preliminary
studies of the joint industrial zone project with neighbouring neighbour Iraq
early next month. The source said in a statement to "tomorrow": "Preliminary studies
include the preparation of terms of reference from the preparation for the
stage of submission of the offer (request for a proposal) is currently
implemented by the Jordanian Iraqi Company".
He pointed out that this
step paves the way for bidding, especially with regard to the appointment of a
consulting company will work to provide details and economic feasibility of the
project.
It is noteworthy that the Jordanian-Iraqi industrial zone,
which was announced on the border is located on an area of 4,000 square kilometres,
equally between the two countries. The source, who asked not to be named, told
the Jordanian-Iraqi meetings expected to be held during the current month in
order to expedite the completion of the necessary procedures to implement the
project.
