Income tax and sales tax department said that taxpayers who
did not submit income tax returns for the past years can submit these
declarations and pay the amounts declared in them and benefit from the decision
of the cabinet to extend the exemption from fines.
The official spokesman of the department Moussa Tarawneh in
response to a question to Jordan News Agency that the taxpayers who were unable
to pay the full amounts required of them at once because of their
circumstances, they can submit an application for the payment of the balances
incurred, and the payment of the first instalment and thus the full payments
are due to the end of this year.
The official spokesman, who is also the Assistant Director
General of the Department responsible for the initiative, requested to submit
any declarations that were not submitted before the end of March, and to pay
the amounts declared in these declarations in order to benefit from the full
exemption of fines due to non-payment of balances or late submission of
declarations.
He also called on taxpayers who have not submitted tax
returns to take advantage of the decision of the cabinet to extend the
exemption from all fines when paying the original claim for income and sales
taxes and to review the department's departments and centres during official
working hours during the current month
