Minister
of State for Investment Mohannad Shehadeh and Qatar's Minister of Commerce and
Industry Ali bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari inaugurated the Jordanian Industries Fair in
Qatar on Wednesday with the participation of 100 Jordanian companies.
The exhibition, organized by
Al Muroojoon International for Marketing and Organizing Exhibitions (APCO) and
supported by the Amman Chamber of Industry and the Investment Authority, will
be attended by 100 Jordanian industrial companies operating in different
industrial sectors.
Organizers at the Doha
Exhibition and Convention Center are seeking to promote the national industry
and attract agents and buyers from Qatari merchants and importers.
The opening of the exhibition
was attended by Acting Charge d'Affaires in the Jordanian Embassy in Qatar
Amjad Al-Mubaidin, Deputy Khamis Attia and Head of the Amman Chamber of
Commerce Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq.
Shehadeh stressed that the
presence of more than 100 Jordanian industrial companies in Qatar is one of the
most important means of economic communication, leading to the establishment of
trade and industrial partnerships between representatives of the private sector
in both countries.
He pointed out that the
exhibition will play a major role in bringing about a qualitative leap in the
level of trade exchange between the two brotherly countries.
He added that the launch of
the direct maritime line between Qatar and Jordan in addition to the
organization of the exhibition will transfer the volume of trade exchange
between the two countries to a wider and more welcoming horizons during the
coming period, pointing out that the sectors participating in the exhibition
are different and varied and pioneer in industrial fields.
He pointed out that the main
objective of the exhibition is to identify Qatari businessmen with Jordanians
in the interest of holding economic, trade and investment partnerships in the
long and short term. He pointed out that what benefits the two countries
through holding bilateral meetings with representatives of the private sector
in both The two countries.
In his turn, the head of the
Amman Chamber of Industry, Eng. Fathi al-Jaghbir, stressed the importance of
holding a specialized exhibition for the Jordanian industries in Qatar to
promote and enhance the presence of national products in the foreign markets as
well as networking and networking with Qatari traders and importers.
"National products have a
great opportunity to expand their share in the Qatari market thanks to their
high quality and competitiveness, which gives them a preference to compete with
other commodities imported by the State of Qatar," he said.
He stressed that the Amman
Chamber of Industry is keen to support the participation of industrialists in
such international and regional exhibitions, which is an important marketing
station to showcase the products of various industrial sectors.
Eng. Al-Jaghbir pointed out
that the Jordanian industries present at the exhibition are diverse, distinct
and integrated, and enjoy high quality and competitive prices, pointing out
that the participating Jordanian industrialists are looking for Qatari agents
to export their products to Qatar and build commercial partnerships and
establish joint industrial investments.
For his part, the Director
General of APCO Raed Abu Saada said that the organization of the exhibition,
which lasts three days in its second session, with the aim of opening new
markets to the national industry and networking with the owners of business and
industrial Qataris.
