Jordan is one of the most "safe and stable countries in the Middle East and a very suitable investment environment and we have an interest in the stability of the Jordanian economy," said Czech Industry and Trade Minister Marta Novakova.
Speaking at the opening of the Jordan-Jordan Business Forum organized by the Jordanian-European Business Association (JEPA) in cooperation with the Czech Embassy in Amman, Novakova said the Czech Republic appreciates Jordan's efforts to alleviate the impact of the refugee crisis and rebuild traditional economic relations in the region. The development and stability of Jordan's economy and its ability to compete, which enabled the Czech Republic to simplify the rules of origin between Jordan and the European Union to facilitate access of Jordanian companies to the European market.

The meeting of the Jordanian-Czech Business Forum reflects the developed relations between the two countries and the joint keenness of both sides to strengthen and promote them, said Yousuf Al-Shamali, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
He pointed out that the volume of Jordan's exports to the Czech Republic last year amounted to 199 thousand dollars and the volume of imports from the Czech Republic amounted to 53 million dollars, pointing out that today's meeting reflects the common desire to develop relations Trade and investment diversification.
He said that Jordan, under the guidance of His Majesty King Abdullah II, has carried out intensive reforms to support the growth of the Jordanian economy despite the unprecedented challenges facing the national economy because of the situation in the region, pointing out that Jordan has signed a network of free trade agreements that have stimulated Jordan's exports to promising international markets.
He referred to the ongoing measures taken by the government to facilitate the flow of goods into strategic commercial markets such as the European Union and Iraq.
He pointed out that it was agreed with the European Union to amend the scheme of rules of origin and the Jordanian-Iraqi trade relations witnessed a quantum leap through the signing of several agreements to ensure the movement of goods between the two countries.
The chairman of the Jordanian-European Business Association (JEPA), Jamal Friz, said that Jordan and the Czech Republic have historical and strong relations based on mutual understanding, pointing out the existence of several cooperation agreements signed between the two countries in various fields.
He pointed out that despite the existence of good economic relations, there is a great possibility to increase the volume of economic cooperation through diversifying the goods and services offered by both parties.
The Chairman of the Exhibitions Committee at the Amman Chamber of Industry, Ahmed Al-Khudari, presented the challenges facing the Jordanian economy, notably instability in the surrounding area and Jordan's reception of large numbers of refugees. However, the Jordanian economy witnessed reforms and maintained its stability to remain an investment destination. And the Czechs at the level of public and private sectors and networking to achieve common goals and the development of economic and investment cooperation.
The head of the Czech Industry Federation, Riazlav Honak, said there was great potential and opportunities for increasing trade and economic exchanges and cooperation. He pointed out that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries reached 60 million dollars last year, but this figure could be increased significantly this year and next year.
The Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Jerash, Dr. Mohammed Al-Atom, said that the promotion and support of investment between Jordanian businessmen and their Czech counterparts is a priority for the Chamber of Industry of Jordan in light of its importance to face the economic challenges.
Jordan is the first country in the region to sign a partnership agreement with the European Union in 1997. The forum includes a presentation of opportunities, he said, adding that Jordan is offering investment opportunities to be exploited by foreign businessmen and investors in strategic sectors including the financial sector, medical products, technology, medical equipment, Investment and economic opportunities available to the two countries through presentations and working papers submitted by the two sides in addition to holding bilateral meetings between members of the visiting delegation and their counterparts from the Jordanian businessmen.
