A Parliamentary Memorandum to Extend The Exemption Period from Tax and Customs Fines

A parliamentary memorandum demanded Prime Minister Omar al-Razzaz to extend the exemption period, which ends on Monday.

The memorandum was issued by MP Moataz Abu Rumman for reasons of extension for the benefit of the citizen and to refinance the treasury. The memorandum was handed over to the Speaker of the House of Representatives with the aim of addressing the Government, where he was informed by the Prime Minister immediately.

The memorandum reads as follows:

Honorable Speaker of the House of Representatives Eng. Atef Tarawneh Al Akram

We, the undersigned, are kindly requested to address the Prime Minister in order to extend the exemption from tax and customs penalties for an additional one month.

Where the period granted to citizens was only 60 days from 1/11 to 31/12 and the government's willingness to receive the actual payment began from 20/11 only.

And where a large percentage of citizens were not able to benefit from the exemption for not completing the procedures of the interests and the settlement of settlements as a result of overcrowding of applications, especially in the last week, in addition to the difficulty of paying the principal amount sometimes, and some seek to secure bank loans or borrow it as the end of the year, In getting a loan.

In order to assist citizens in facing the financial and economic challenges and to expand the beneficiaries of the financial exemption from traders and individuals, we present to you to address the government in this memorandum to extend the deadline for one month only.

Note that the next amnesty law excludes tax and customs penalties, in addition to extending the time period will provide the Treasury with more of the outstanding claims and reduce the cases seen in the courts, which is in the interest of the Income and Sales Tax Department,
