The Chairman of the Chambers of
Industry of Jordan and Amman, Eng. Fathi Al-Jaghbair, called for overcoming the
procedural obstacles facing the industrial sector in relation to the work of
the Customs Department in order to activate the real partnership between the
public and private sectors.
This came during a meeting between the Director General of the Customs
Department, Major General Dr. Abdulmajid Al-Rahamna and a number of directors
of the customs departments at the Chamber of Commerce, to discuss and discuss a
number of issues concerning the industrial sector and how the Customs Department
contributes to solving these issues.
The national industries face a number of challenges that limit their
competitiveness in the local market and export markets, such as high production
costs and energy prices, the complexity of access to financial facilities, and
the political and security conditions witnessed by the countries of the region,
which reflected negatively on the value of Jordanian exports, which requires
Cooperation and support of the official authorities, including customs, through
simplification of all customs procedures, and activating the Council of
Partnership with Customs, so that through this Council to discuss and resolve
various industrial issues, and called the Customs Department to appoint liaison
officers between the party Yen to coordinate in solving all issues facing
industrialists.
For his part, the Director General of the Customs Department, Major General
Rahamna, the Department's adoption of the policy of the open door on issues of
industrialists, noting that the Department is working to intensify technical
training and behavioral education for its employees in the policy of systematic
development, in addition to it will tender for the purchase of cameras to be
placed on The customs inspectors' clothes within the policy of the Customs
Department to employ the tools of modern technology to protect these inspectors
who deal directly with citizens and achieve the highest levels of performance
and development, and measuring the transparency and commitment of these
inspectors to the operations issued to them, Leading to a closer
relationship between the two parties.
"The meeting will be the first of a series of meetings to be held in
Jordan within the framework of the" State of Production ", which was
launched this year, and will include meetings with officials from various
institutions and ministries, the head of the committee overseeing the campaign
made in Jordan, Related to the industrial work, to discuss mechanisms to
support the campaign and overcome all obstacles to the procedures facing the
industrial sector, thus contributing to the realization of His Majesty's
visions of self-reliance and the achievement of the state of production.
During the meeting, a number of industrial issues related to industrial work
were discussed, including exemption of industrial production inputs and
amendment of the indicative lists of more than five years, as well as
facilitating the procedures for renewing the residence of the Syrian investors'
vehicles, increasing imports of Chinese and Egyptian stone, Conforming to
Jordanian standards and standards.
