The Investment Authority announced that a technical committee was formed by the Council of Ministers formed by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, Ministry of Interior and Investment Authority to consider the applications of investors who submitted to the Investment Authority in order to obtain Jordanian nationality through investment.
She added that the Technical Committee will work to ensure that the applications for obtaining citizenship from the conditions and foundations established on the basis of granting citizenship to investors, and will be submitted to the recommendations of the Commission on granting citizenship through a detailed report of the case for each request.
The Investment Authority indicated that the number of applications submitted by the investors who applied for Jordanian citizenship was 169 applications, eight of which met the conditions and the bases for the granting of citizenship and will be submitted to the Council of Ministers and 24 applications that have received the required documents and will be submitted to the technical committee for consideration and taking the most appropriate action.
It is noteworthy that the Council of Ministers recently approved the amendment of the foundations for the granting of nationality to investors to include the owners of existing investments in the Kingdom, in order to stimulate the investment environment and facilitate the procedures for investors wishing to invest in the Kingdom, and these amendments to equity existing investments and enable, Jordanian nationality to the owner of the existing project or its partners according to the basis approved by the Council of Ministers.
