Fathi Al-Jaghbir, confirmed that the Jordanian industrial delegation discussed the development of integrative industrial relations between the two countries towards Arab industrial and commercial integration, especially since the volume of trade exchange between Jordan and Algeria is not satisfactory at all, while successive governments on both sides did not seek to raise the volume of trade between Jordan and Algeria. the trade exchange.

Jaghbir said in the press statement issued after the end of the Jordanian industrial delegation’s visit to its active participation in the Algiers International Fair, that the volume of exchange between the two sides did not exceed $200 million, stressing the importance of raising this exchange to double fold until the exchange amounted to billions of dollars.

He called for increasing industrial integration between the two countries, and providing customs exemptions on goods, stressing the importance of establishing a joint industrial trade nucleus between the two countries to enhance economic cooperation and increase the volume of joint investments.

He stressed the need to enhance economic cooperation between Jordan and Algeria and to work out a road map to activate bilateral trade and stimulate the private sector in both countries to take advantage of the available opportunities.
He pointed to the need to support the strengthening of economic cooperation, in many aspects, the most important of which are: benefiting from Jordanian expertise, employing industrial capabilities, and learning about investment opportunities available between the two countries.

Eng. Jaghbir confirmed that the Jordanian industrial delegation met with all industrial and commercial bodies in Algeria, in addition to government agencies there, in the presence of Minister of Industry and Trade Youssef Al-Shamali, along with the meeting with businessmen and investors in Algeria.

He pointed out that the industrial delegation discussed all obstacles that prevent the flow of national exports to Algeria, in addition to demanding a direct flight line between the two capitals.

Jaghbir, in the presence of the Northern Minister, discussed with the Algerian Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Professor Kamal Rezik, the President and members of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and a number of Algerian businessmen of industrial integration between the two countries. investments.

Jaghbir stressed that the Jordanian industrial sector possesses highly competitive advantages in many productive sectors, while the Kingdom is a regional and global gateway for economic exchange with the world due to the free trade agreements signed by the Kingdom with the largest global economic blocs.

He revealed that the Jordanian industrial delegation visited a number of Jordanian investments in Algeria, such as the pharmaceutical industries.

In addition, the exhibition was held with the support of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, the Ministry of Investment and the Jordan Export House, with the participation of 23 Jordanian industrial companies.

The participants in the exhibition varied between the sectors of electronic and electrical industries, electrical appliances, food industries, services, chemical and petrochemical industries, mechanical industries and traditional industries.

The industrial delegation was able to hold bilateral meetings between businessmen, investors, industrialists and officials, in the presence of Minister of Industry and Trade Youssef Al-Shamali and Jordanian Ambassador to Algeria Shaker Al-Amoush, with the participation of Eng. Jaghbir and members of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry.

For his part, the Rapporteur of the Exhibitions Committee in the Amman Chamber of Industry, Ahed Al-Rajbi, stressed the importance of Jordanian participation in the Algerian exhibition, especially since the Algerian market is one of the important markets for national exports in North Africa, and its proximity to European markets.

Al-Rajbi pointed out that participation in the exhibition constitutes a great opportunity to introduce and promote the national industry, display its products and show the high level it has reached.

In turn, the representative of the chemical and cosmetic industries sector, a member of the Jordan Chamber of Industry, Eng. Ahmed Al-Bas, said that the exhibition constituted an important opportunity to hold Jordanian-Algerian trade and industrial meetings, with the aim of discussing removing obstacles to strengthening economic relations between the two countries that hinder the flow of goods between the two countries.

In addition, a member of the Irbid Chamber of Industry, Hussein Al-Draiseh, stressed the importance of the Jordanian industrial presence in such exhibitions, because of the exchange of experiences and knowledge of successful experiences and the mechanisms used and the promotion of national industries in the most important Arab markets.

It is noteworthy that the volume of trade exchanges between the two countries amounted during the year 2021 to about 199 million dollars, as the value of Jordanian exports reached 99 million compared to imports amounting to 100 million. Jordanian exports were concentrated in medicines, fertilizers, pesticides and agricultural products, while imports from Algeria were concentrated in cane sugar and petroleum gases.
