The exports of the Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI) have continued their upward trend that began at the start of 2025, reflecting the resilience of Jordanian industry in overcoming challenges and strengthening its presence in export markets.
During the first five months of 2025, ACI’s exports grew by 12.2% compared to the same period last year.
Exports reached JOD 2.849 billion, up from JOD 2.540 billion for the same period in 2024.
Most industrial sectors recorded an increase in exports during the first five months of this year, with the exception of the wood, furniture sector and the packaging, paper, cardboard, and office supplies sector, which declined by 14% and 9.2%, respectively.
On the other hand, exports from the remaining eight industrial sub-sectors recorded varying increases. The highest growth was seen in the construction materials sector, which surged by 86.7%, while the engineering, electrical, and IT sector recorded the lowest increase at 0.5%.
As usual, India, the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq accounted for more than half of ACI’s exports during the first five months of 2025, totaling JOD 1.635 billion.
Statistical data showed that exports to India rose by 14.7%, reaching JOD 395 million, compared to JOD 344 million in the same period last year.
Exports to Saudi Arabia increased by 7.2%, reaching JOD 352 million, compared to JOD 328 million in the same period of 2024.
Exports to Iraq grew by 4.8%, reaching JOD 381 million, up from JOD 363 million in the same period last year.
Conversely, exports to the United States declined by 5.1%, dropping to JOD 507 million from JOD 534 million last year, though the U.S. remained the top destination for ACI’s exports.
Data also revealed a significant increase in exports to Syria, which surged by 302.1% to JOD 114 million, up from JOD 28 million during the same period of 2024.
Exports to Palestine also rose by 21%, reaching JOD 69 million, compared to JOD 56 million in the same period last year.
