Based on the directives of the National Information Security Council, which aim to enhance cybersecurity and protect the infrastructure of the industrial sector in Jordan, we would like to inform you that the Amman Chamber of Industry is considering the establishment of a National Information Security Center dedicated to the industrial sector. This initiative aims to protect industries from cyberattacks, system breaches, and data leaks that could threaten the sustainability of industrial operations, especially in light of the increasing cyber threats targeting institutions and individuals for financial gain or espionage purposes. These challenges necessitate that institutions enhance their efficiency and capabilities to counter such attacks and ensure a swift response in the event of any cybersecurity breaches.
The total cost of establishing the center is estimated at approximately 5 million Jordanian dinars, which includes the installation of advanced security hardware and software in the participating factories. These factories will contribute to part of the cost, with an initial contribution ranging between 25,000 and 50,000 Jordanian dinars per factory. The estimated annual budget for operating the center is 2 million Jordanian dinars, with an annual contribution of approximately 10,000 to 20,000 Jordanian dinars per factory.
