The Amman Chamber of Industry's exports during the past eight months of this year amounted to approximately 4.552 billion Jordanian Dinars, compared to 4.739 billion Dinars during the same period last year in 2023.
Seven sectors recorded an increase in exports, ranging between 2.4% for food, agricultural, and livestock industries, and 22.1% for the chemical and cosmetics industries. On the other hand, exports from the remaining three sectors decreased by 4.6% for the packaging, paper, and office supplies industries, 23.1% for construction materials, and 35.6% for the mining industries.
Four countries—India, the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq—accounted for more than half of the Chamber's exports during the past eight months, totaling 2.896 billion Jordanian Dinars.
According to statistical data, exports to the United States during this period rose by 53.2%, amounting to 1.199 billion Dinars, compared to 782 million Dinars in the same period last year. This placed the U.S. at the top of the list of countries receiving exports from the Amman Chamber of Industry.
Exports to Iraq increased by 10.8%, reaching 609 million Dinars, compared to 549 million Dinars during the same period last year.
Conversely, exports to Saudi Arabia declined by 5.5%, totaling 521 million Dinars compared to 551 million Dinars in the same period last year. Exports to India also saw a significant decrease, dropping by 37.6% to 567 million Dinars, compared to 908 million Dinars in the same period last year.
Regionally, exports to Arab countries were valued at 2.014 billion Dinars, followed by Asian countries (excluding Arab states) with 833 million Dinars, and African countries with 23 million Dinars. Exports to North America amounted to 1.223 billion Dinars, while those to South America were valued at 61 million Dinars. Exports to EU countries were 235 million Dinars, to non-EU European countries 96 million Dinars, and to other countries 66 million Dinars.
The Chamber's exports were distributed across several sectors, including chemical and cosmetics industries at 1.102 billion Dinars, mining industries at 947 million Dinars, and engineering, electrical, and IT industries at 712 million Dinars.
Food, agricultural, and livestock industries contributed approximately 521 million Dinars, medical supplies 448 million Dinars, and leather and garment industries 350 million Dinars. The remaining exports were distributed across plastics and rubber industries (201 million Dinars), packaging, paper, and office supplies (181 million Dinars), construction materials (76 million Dinars), and wood and furniture industries (14 million Dinars).
